Magic shop bunnies!

Oct 11, 2010 23:00

He looked in though the store window, spotting the big cage of white bunnies on display, just between a sample from the wide collection of wooden wands and a swooshy fancy admirable cape on a headless mannequin. While most of the little creatures in the cage were busy sleeping, one of them were up against the cage, staring at him, so intensively that he felt hypnotised.

Shaking his head, he entered the store.

Once in there he had to take cover behind a rack of velvet clad magician hats to avoid getting hit by a flying (thick) book. He looked back up only to be dragged back to his feet by a handsome man with quite the eyebrows. "I am so sorry!" he said, bowing. "He thought you were someone else! Please don't mind him!" the man, according to the nametag named Siwon, said, smiling a very pleasant smile.

Kyuhyun saw another guy, one with eyes filled with suspicion and kind of long hair, peeking out from the back rooms.

"Kibum has a few stalkers." the man named Siwon said in a very loud whisper, and the eyebrows did a small sad-dance, while the guy named Kibum just snorted and returned to the back room out of sight.

"Don't mind him! So, what can I help you with today, sir?" Siwon said, suddenly professional.

"I'd like to take a look at the bunnies you have on display in the window, thank you." Kyuhyun said, smiling a little, since Siwon's smile was in fact kind of infectious.

Siwon pulled on thick leather gloves, and approached the cage like it'd bite him, which Kyuhyun noticed. He raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. The bunny that had been staring at him from before now had crouched, and he suddenly understood the gloves. Siwon opened the cage door, and the bunny which apparently knew a chance when it saw one, bolted straight out of the cage, which made Siwon yell in surprise. The bunny, however, simply ran for Kyuhyun, crashing into him with a force he hadn't quite expected and latched onto his leg.

Awkward silence ensued, in which Kibum made an appearance to check what the flying book was going on, and staring at Kyuhyun with a kind of creepy half-smile when he saw the bunny (the new shoe?).

That, was a terribly bad omen, he thought.

Ten times Kyuhyun wishes he hadn't gotten a rabbit from the local magic shop (and one he's kinda happy about it).

One - When he discovers that the rabbit talks.

Kyuhyun places the small cage containing his newly bought bunny on the counter, turning around to sort away the groceries as he got the most unexpected scare of his life. "My name is Sungmin." someone said, and he jumped, dropping the bag of rodent-food he'd been holding. He turned, noticing the bunny leaning against the cage door, using its paws as arms.

Kyuhyun just stared at the white, furry creature. The creature stared back. "It's rude to stare." the bunny said.

Kyuhyun made sure to get back to his usual snarkyness before answering. "Who are YOU to speak? You're a bunny."

The bunny snorted. "I'm a rabbit. Twats like you need to learn the difference. Now let me out."

Kyuhyun groaned inwardly. It was just his luck, to get a RABBIT that talked.

Two - When the rabbit wants to prove itself.

"I SWEAR I USED TO BE A NINJA." the rabbit named Sungmin wailed from his cage on the living room floor, where Kyuhyun had forced him to stay after finding him nibbling on whatever he got his paws on, IN THE FRIDGE. How he got there from the beginning was the mystery of the century. If Sungmin-the-rabbit had been able to pout, Kyuhyun thinks that this would have been the moment.

"I'm sure you were." he replied, voice practically dripping with sarcasm as he turned the page in the book he had been kind-of reading. Sungmin-the-rabbit had taken a habit to make weird screeching noises whenever Kyuhyun wanted to play videogames, so gaming was a rare pleasure to indulge in since he'd gotten that damn rabbit.

"KYUHYUN YOU STOP READING, RIGHT NOW, OR I WILL SCREAM SO LOUD YOUR LANDLADY WILL COME UP HERE AND ASK YOU TO GET OUT OKAY?"

Kyuhyun jumped, and threw his book at the cage.

It was silent (oh sweet silence) for about two minutes.

"At least I'VE done Chinese martial arts."

"SHUT UP" Kyuhyun roared and wished he had another book to throw.

Three - When the rabbit needs a bath.

Kyuhyun has a mild breakdown in the middle of his kitchen as he finds food all over the floor (again), and in the middle of the vivid mess of food his damned pet rabbit is nibbling on what appears to be a baby carrot covered in jam. He's almost afraid to touch the rainb-... Rabbit. Its fur is no longer white, but covered in various kinds of food. Dropping his keys on the kitchen counter he silently counts to twenty, one for each shade of colour he can find either on the kitchen floor (and is that butter on the ceiling?) or covering his once white pet.

White?

Where?

Kyuhyun feels like screeching in anger, but knows better. Instead he simply stalks to the bathroom and fills the bathtub with just enough warm water to not make Sungmin drown. Patiently pours some soap into the water, and considers wearing a full body wetsuit. It's just a feeling he has, that Sungmin will ... oppose... to the idea of taking a bath. Once done in the bathroom he sneaks up behind the rabbit that's still munching on whatever that red thing he has in his tiny paws is.

Sungmin suddenly finds himself lifted into the air and squeals before he realizes that his master is home, and carrying him. Sungmin is quite happy, he's been able to steal delicious food, and turn Kyuhyun's kitchen into a work of art (or hell, depending on who you ask) and now Kyuhyun will carry him to his cage and he can be there and shout obscenities while Kyuhyun cleans up the mess Sungmin made. The joys of being a rabbit.

However, when he finds that Kyuhyun (who is in fact holding the animal as far out from his body as possible) is in fact carrying him to the bathroom, something clicks in his brain, and he starts to struggle against the hold. The squeaks and wriggles and tries his best, but Kyuhyun has an unforgiving grip, and before he knows it, he's put down in water. Scary, wet water. Colours are floating out from his fur in every direction, and he screams in protest when his master pours water over his head.

All hell breaks loose.

Kyuhyun yells out in pain when the soapy, panicking animal struggles against his firm hold and buries its claws in his wrist.

He curses the rabbit and its ancestors as he sweeps though his soapy and wet apartment, rag and bucket in hand and a fierce face expression, said rabbit nowhere to find.

Four/Interlude.

And then there was the incident with pink icing. Kyuhyun could STILL smell artificial strawberry three weeks later, and the colour lasted an additional two (bathless) weeks before Sungmin's fur was once again white.

Five - When the rabbit wants to play dress-up games.

He stared at his pet with his best furious Look. The pet stared back, all innocence and white fluffy fur and cute ears.

"No." he said, trying his best to not get creeped out by the stare he got from the animal, as he turned away from the cupboard where he had found Sungmin in the first place. Why he'd been there was another mystery, and Kyuhyun felt like crying at this whole situation.

"Yes." Sungmin replied, voice half firm, half cute-y. He knew what he wanted and intended to get it.

A ten minute silence, a war between eyes and a shattered plate later, Kyuhyun promptly exploded.

"NO! I refuse to buy you a stupid pink dress, you're a rabbit and rabbits don't wear clothes! They don't talk, they don't like cake with pink icing, and they don't randomly play with shoes! You're my pet and you better shut up before I drop you from the balcony."

Silence.

"From where did you get the idea of a dress, by the way?" Kyuhyun wondered, done hyperventilating.

"I googled it!" Sungmin replied cheerfully, and hid as Kyuhyun let out a roar and tried to murder him.

It took the bunny two days of cute eyes before Kyuhyun gave up. "RABBITS DON'T KNOW GOOGLE, WHY IS THIS MY LIFE" he screamed.

His neighbours gave him Very Odd glances after that, and Sungmin wore his frilly pink dress for rabbits proudly, shrieking about being a Princess-Ninja or something once in a while.

Six - When the rabbit becomes sexually mature.

The day Kyuhyun came home to find Sungmin humping the teddy bear he got from a female friend a few days ago was the day he went to get professional help (and some meds). It was also the first time ever he called someone screaming about a stylish teddy bear in a mini Lady Gaga t-shirt and his pet rabbit growing up.

When Kyuhyun hid the poor teddy bear (its name was Gentleman Mimi, but no one really needed to know that) Sungmin decided to use Kyuhyun's leg instead. And the couch, and the table, and the lamp, and the sink, and Kyuhyun's friends.

Nothing was worse than opening the door for his parents when his pet rabbit was latching onto his leg, acting overall disgusting. NOTHING.

Some time after that, Kyuhyun made it a habit to put towels on his pants whenever the rabbit seemed the slightest bit twitchy.

Even later, he decided to keep Sungmin at his cage at night, since having one's rabbit humping your head in the middle of the night wasn't a particularly nice way to wake up.

Also, since Sungmin could speak, he made human noises. Kyuhyun kept the cage in the kitchen at night and used earplugs after that.

Seven - When the rabbit gets jealous.

Sungmin wasn't stupid just because he had a smaller brain than humans. Even rabbits knew things about human life.

He most certainly knew someone coming home from a date when he saw one. "And where have YOU been?" he asked his master, distaste in his voice, kind of garbled since he was having a night snack.

The fur needed Vitamin B to stay in top shape, and Sungmin himself needed to keep on his diet carefully.

Kyuhyun gave him a Look, and Sungmin could have cared, but didn't, even though he was curled up on his master's bed and that was strongly off limits.

Master had been out on a DATE, he practically reeked of the outside world. Nothing escaped the sensitive nose of a princess ninja rabbit.

Sungmin didn't consider himself to be possessive, but his master is his and his only. An invisible frown planted itself on his tiny face as he sensed the easiness in Kyuhyun's aura. Whoever had made master much happier than Sungmin himself, needed to die. In a fire.

Sungmin wanted to go ninja on them, that were how displeased he was.

Kyuhyun's response to the rabbit's question was a smirk, and Sungmin reeked of jealousy.

He made sure to bite Kyuhyun extra hard as said human tried to move him from the bed to his cage for the night. Then he sauntered off, nose in the air and princess-ness in place. His pride was VERY HURT. All things considered, Sungmin still considered himself to be the centre of master's universe.

Eight - When the rabbit is simply a pain.

Kyuhyun actually liked to bring friends over, and it was a better option than going out, since the last time he did that, Sungmin had taken poor Gentleman Mimi hostage and Kyuhyun hadn't been able to save the poor teddy bear from Sungmin's claws. They were currently on a peace truce, but you never know with talking rabbits.

Gentleman Mimi (thank God, still in a good condition) was now used to keep Sungmin company so that he had something to curl up against when Kyuhyun was a "meanie" and tried to squish him in his sleep.

Kyuhyun had been having a pretty normal conversation he thinks, when Sungmin suddenly decided to interfere, and popped out of nowhere, placing himself on Ryeowook's lap and actually PURRING. Like a CAT. Kyuhyun facepalms and Sungmin tells him to stop being an asshole.

Ryeowook drops Sungmin in shock, and the rabbit is anything but pleased at that.

It takes Kyuhyun half an hour to explain, and that's probably because he traps Sungmin in a cupboard and bribes Ryeowook with lunch for two weeks (something he later regrets bitterly).

Nine - When the rabbit steals the spotlight.

He was so happy, finally a night away from that stupid animal, a kind of immature sleepover he had just went to so that he could get away from Sungmin.

"HI MASTER!" the rabbit has squealed when he jumped out of Kyuhyun's until then suspiciously heavy bag. Kyuhyun couldn't reply, he was busy having a heart attack.

He cursed, as every single one of his friends doted on the stupid animal. Even Kangin was all over it, poking it and asking it random questions.

"So, what can you do? Be pulled out of a hat?"

Jungsu slapped his arm and Kangin grinned in reply. Kangin's grin vanished when Sungmin, dressed in his best non-princessy clothes (some kind of hot pink ninja outfit complete with fake weapons) pounced on him and tried to rape his face.

Kyuhyun wants to kill Sungmin, that's all he really wants actually, he thinks as he runs for his life.

Ten - When the rabbit becomes human.

Something is very off when Kyuhyun enters his apartment that evening after a rough day at work. It's just in the air and he feels it from the moment he opens the door. When suddenly an unknown boy dressed in white clothes, a very PRETTY boy, appears, he gasps and thinks that now, now he'll die from a heart attack.

"Who are you!?" he demands, making the boy smile a kind of creepily cute smile and advance on him.

"I'm your pet bunny." is the reply he gets, and before he knows it, he's dragged off to the bedroom.

Kyuhyun can't bring himself to be surprised, considering the things Sungmin has already done. Pushing him down on the bed and kissing him? Yeah, why not. Who knows with talking rabbits?

Or, currently, a human with the sexual energy of a crazed rabbit.

Eleven - When the rabbit goes back to being a rabbit.

Sungmin goes back to being a fluffy white creature after about three weeks, and Kyuhyun kind of misses the human Sungmin. He's gotten used to having a real face to the voice, and it was actually pretty nice to be able to tell himself that he's NOT crazy, the talking rabbit just got human. And then he isn't anymore.

"Aaaw, master, did you like having me as a human?" Sungmin taunts from his cage. Kyuhyun can't bring himself to look his pet straight in the eyes anymore; it's kind of awkward to imagine that yeah, he had sex with this rabbit, several times.

"You know, I liked you better as a rabbit." Kyuhyun says, avoiding looking at the cage and no real edge to his voice.

Deep inside, he likes having something to come home to, even if that someone still holds his teddy bear hostage, eats his food, lives on pink icing and any pink clothing, claims to be a ninja and ruins his apartment every time Kyuhyun says it's bath time (a problem he solves by bathing Sungmin whenever he takes a bath himself because then Sungmin gets really distracted).

It doesn't take long before Kyuhyun is recognized as the young man with his pet bunny always in a leash. Sungmin gets to sleep in Kyuhyun's bed every other week, and he gets to go back to the store he grew up in the other weeks.

Both are happy with this arrangement.
