Mr. Schue walked into the choir room and closed the door behind him. Normally, this wasn't his style. Mercedes was pretty excited about this project with Finn. She had been a little worried at first, mainly because she wasn't sure if he would even want to sing with her. But the whole project had turned into a pleasant surprise. "Okay, so Finn and I discovered that we're both really inspired by music, particularly older songs. This one from the 80's we really both rocked out to, so we hope you like it."

Finn sang the major verses while Mercedes harmonized on the hook and then joined in on the chorus in parts. It was a really good song that showcased their skills, and they had fun playing up the interaction too. They had worked extra hard on that part.

Brittany was really excited to show off what she and Tina had put together. The song made her smile, and she was really satisfied with the choreography she'd put together while Tina had handled the arrangement. Dressed in her cowgirl outfit, complete with lasso, she grinned at the rest of the club. "So," she smiled, "Tina and I chose friendship as what inspires us. So, this is to our friends." She looked right at Santana. "We hope you all like it."

Standing in front of the rest of the glee club, Tina suddenly felt self conscious in her Little Bo Peep costume. Maybe they shouldn't have gone with costumes or at least not with costumes based off of Disney characters. She glanced over at Brittany and seeing the grin on the other girls face, she tried to relax. This was supposed to be fun after all and she really did like what they'd done with the song and the choreography.

When the song started, any worry Tina might have had slipped away. She really did like performing and it was nice to get to sing with just one other person. Throughout the performance, she found herself mostly alternating between looking at Mike and looking at Artie. Though, her eyes swept the rest of the room on occasion and she made sure to shoot Mercedes a grin.

Mercedes swayed along to the song happily. She smiled when she caught Tina's eye and gave her a thumbs up. She applauded for the duo because anything Disney was epic.

Artie and Kurt had struggled to find something that inspired them both and in the end they had gone with their families - their father's in particular.

Rachel grabbed Mike's hand as she headed for the front of the choir room. She would have preferred to perform first, but knew that Mike didn't exactly like the spotlight as much as she did. She'd managed to sit through three performances before deciding enough was a enough and they needed to show the others how this was done.

She'd appreciated their choices. In fact, she they were quite inspiring, and she just knew, her and Mike's song choice (mostly her choice) would definitely fit in with the theme.

Clasping her hands in front of her, Rachel addressed the group. "After careful deliberation, Mike and I decided that music, particularly singing for me and dancing for him, is what inspires us." She took a deep breath and glanced to her left where Mike shuffled his feet. "We agreed that people can bring you down, friends can turn their backs on you, but music will always be there. So today, we're performing You Get What You Give by New Radicals."

Finn bobbed his head to the beat, smiling slightly as he watched Rachel and Mike nail it. He felt a little weird, watching her sing with Mike and he wondered why his stomach seemed tight... but assumed it must have been the huge burrito he had for lunch.

When they finished, he clapped politely, leaning in to Rachel when she sat down, whispering. "Eh, that was alright. I think me and Mercedes beat you though."

Rachel narrowed her eyes at Finn, trying to gauge whether he was serious or not. "You just witnessed perfection, Mr. Hudson." She brushed her hair over her shoulder, shuffled back in her seat and crossed her right leg over her left. "Cockiness is so unbecoming," she whispered, the corner of the mouth lifting up in a small smile.
