Emily looked up from where she'd been helping Pia draw a picture as her phone announced a text from Puck. Pia smiled excitedly at her. "Puck! It's from Puck!" She exclaimed, jumping up and down.
Hiding her grin, Emily tried not to let her sister's enthusiasm fuel her own. But as she looked down at the text, her stomach flipped. She shot Pia a look and then texted back.
I'm around. You miss me? I don't blame you. You must be pretty miserable without me there.
Puck rolled her eyes with a smirk. She tugged her blanket up over her knees.
Fish and his family have got nothing on me and my guitar. My guitar's getting kind of dusty, though. Without you around, there's no one worth playing it for.
Puck laughed, rolling her eyes as she read Emily's words. "Bitch," she muttered with a grin. Puck kicked off her sheets, her mind wandering to the last night they'd spent together. She smirked.
My fingers, huh? Guess the picture I was going to send is completely superfluous then.

Of course I miss you, but I bet you're pretty miserable with me, too. That island can't be that great if I'm not there.

I don't know. Fish and his family are here. I'm not too bored, but no one has sang to me outside of Carolina and Pia. So, I guess I miss that.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't send it.

Oh, no. I wouldn't want to bother you with that sort of unnecessary thing.
