We Might Not Have Any Money, But We've Got Our Love to Pay the Bills

Brittany smiled, her left hand tightly woven with Emma's, her right hand holding their picnic basket. She could hear the quacking of the little ducklings.

"Where do you want to sit?" she asked.

"Um.." Emma said looking around, "the shade, shade would be nice."

Once she spotted a suitable spot, under a nice sized tree she gently guided Brittany over to it.

"Do you have a hair tie?" she asked after she'd spread out the blanket she'd been carrying. "I don't know what possesed me to wear my hair down today in this heat."

Brittany didn't wear her hair up often after high school ended, but it was hot, so ponytail it was. She pulled a spare hair tie from her wrist and gave it to Emma.

"I like your hair down," Brittany smiled, kissing Emma on the nose, "but you should probably put it up anyways."

"Thank you" Emma said gratefully as she pulled her hair back then sat down.

She reached up gently tugging Brittany into her lap, "I think you should just admit you like...oh...everything about me" she smiled.

Brittany laughed and kissed Emma softly. "I do," she grinned, kissing the corners of her mouth. "I like everything about you." She kissed the tip of Emma's nose. "Including your enormous ego," she teased, kissing her again on the lips.

Brittany laughed and scooted over to give Emma a kiss on the cheek. "You're doing great, Em," she whispered before turning back to the ducklings and finishing crumbling her bread over their heads.

Emma smiled watching the ducklings quickly eat up the bread."It's nice" she said softly, almost reverntly, "for awhile this is all you have to focus on..worry about."

Brittany smiled, clasping her hand with Emma's and bringing Emma's hand to her face to kiss her knuckles.

"You worry too much, you know that?" Brittany grinned. She tilted Emma's face and gently kissed her on the lips. "You're too beautiful to be worrying all the time."

"I care too much" Emma said with a soft sigh, "but thank you anyway" she said reaching out with her free hand to brush a few strands that had escaped from Brittany's ponytail behind her ear. "It's not always a problem you know. I care enough to wait and be patient..get the right shot. But then...I care too much about the girl with the sunken haunted eyes who will make the hearts of thousands of New Yorkers clench but they'll do nothing to help her. I care too much and..I guess that makes me worry." she shook her head clearing it of the memroies, "Sorry" she said clearing her throat, "sorry."
