Maybe this is the way towards their reunion. If not, it is fitting that Brian is there when Justin breaks. Awesome story!

I'm glad that Brian was able to be there for Justin when he finally folded under the weight of his grief.

My impression from the show, based on Craig's not bothering to attend his daughter's birthday party, was that he was emotionally distant from her, so Justin's observation about Craig losing both his children was accurate and poignant.

The exploration of a facet of Brian's love for Justin, that of a father's selfless care for a son he is proud of, was very well done. His worry that he might have harmed J's opportunity to re-connect with his own father, along with his unfailing support later, was a prime example. It makes one love the Brian character even more, as his love is so complex.
