Thanks, bb. :D Well, I'm glad I've been able to prolong it for one extra part before finishing it then, haha.

this is so heartbreaking. i just want to shake her and make her forgive herself, and him. and i want to shake him and make him fight for her, and get him to make her realise that it is okay, that healing and loving someone doesn't mean that the wounds of the past are just wiped away but they can be healed and remembered and learned from.

Sadly, I think Kara's the kind of person who is more comfortable punishing herself than living fully and Lee's finally starting to see that she already had issues before Zak's death messed her up and that's only the beginning of the problem...Damn I can be depressing, can't I? LOL. The good news is at least there's no hasty marriages to Sams or Dees in their future to add to the conflict. I think you'll find the ending to be fairly hopeful.

Thanks for the comment! :D

This story continues to break my heart into a million pieces, all the while being so wonderful to read and so ridiculously hot. Oh, these two.

Its difficult to pick a favourite part (like the whole lights out, thunderstorm bit), but I loved this:
They were not nearly as drunk as she would like to think they were and she can remember just about everything very clearly. The feelings are all still vivid and stuck to her, like some jarring and irreversible physical change to her body, not slipped away into a blur. And she wonders for a second now, as she didn't at the time, how Lee was able to tell exactly where she hurt herself knocking against the bed frame when it was so dark she can hardly imagine he saw right where she hit it. Trying not to think too much about the feeling of his hands on her, in a pitch-black room during a storm in a hot and dark concert hall while he's standing behind her a breathing voice she could feel on the other end of a phone line, she absently brings one hand up to her shoulder and smoothes it down the ( ... )

This is beautiful. I believe the strength of your writing lies mostly in descriptions of those unique moments between two people: both your characters and the readers are fully aware that none of those moments in time are ever coming back. It's also very close to some of my own experiences - and that is very important, too; reading a story should be like recognizing something you knew but had forgotten.

Thank you. :) There are actually several little things in this fic like the memory with the fireflies that are vaguely inspired by experiences from my life, so that's pretty cool to know you connect to it that way.

The part with the concert reminded me of my own experiences. :)

This chapter just completely shattered my heart into small tiny little pieces.

It was nice to see Lee opening up to Kara about his fears. It seems like she is the only one he can talk to. Are those two ever going to make it work? The ghost of Zak has always haunted their relationship, hell even their friendship. I'm just loving this fic. Can't wait to see what happens next.
