Oh. This was lovely. I love that Lee just says "good" and that he wears the second chain. That's beautiful symbolism there. Thank you for posting it.

Thank you. :) At one point I had a few different sort of symbolic endings in mind as far as what would happen to the two necklaces, and I'm glad everybody seems to like it this way.

There were so many little moments in this that reached right in and gave my heart a little squeeze. The whole conversation in the bunk is SO pitch-perfect Starbuck and Apollo, and it raised up a lot of issues we only wish they'd actually be talking about in the show. We can only perceive so much from this season about their attitudes about the relationship right now, and you presented what they're both feeling in a way that seems extremely real, indisputable.

I was particularly impressed by Lee's characterization. His allergy to Kara's recklessness now that he's been through her death is very poignant, and it makes sense that his knee-jerk reaction to finding the dog tags is fear, just like she experienced. And Kara's frantic "I love you"...It's somehow in character, I don't know.

I think I told you the conversation between them after he finds out was originally supposed to cover the range of what they're feeling about this a lot more elaborately, but I decided it wasn't needed and Lee would just be kind of freaked out just like she is but ultimately it still wouldn't make any difference to him how she's still alive. And for this to happen during the mutiny, it couldn't drag on for too long. LOL.

Oh. This is so perfectly measured and realised. I just adore it. Your Kara is remarkably vivid, so painfully wrestling with her memories of Earth and your Lee is wonderful, how you've placed him in this is something I would have dearly loved to see.
