Her distraction was in full effect. She walked out to the center of the complex. There were cameras everywhere, and it was her job to blind them long enough for the rest of the team to infiltrate the lower levels. She was in all black. It was only seconds before her glowing form took over, her temperature spiking and the glow brightening. Soon it ( Read more... )

Like any good leader would, Manuel had the map to the location memorized. The first team went in, sweeping the halls clear of any soldiers. The second team, which he and Magma and several others were on, were meant to go inside of the facility and free the mutants being experimented upon.

The first team moved in, neutralizing several soldiers swiftly and efficiently. He held up his hand and then motioned for the second wave to follow about fifty feet back, letting the bruisers take on the armed men.

His jaw was set, his face grim as he narrowed his eyes and glanced down a corridor. The map hadn't shown where exactly the prisoners were being held, but the despair and desperation he felt led him to a large locked door.

"Magma. Burn it open." he ordered, glancing to his side.

She nodded, shaking out her hand at her side. She flared up to the elbow and focused on holding it here, laying her hand flat on the lock and handle. Bracing her body behind it, Allison spiked as hot as she could, feeling the metal buckling behind the orange glow. Soon, there was deep red and orange dripping down the door.

Smirking to herself, Allison moved back a step, letting the glow in her arm die out before angling her leg up, slamming her heel into the lock. "We're good," she said quietly as she moved back to his side.

Allison moved into the lab a pace behind Manuel, watching him. He was always commanding; it was part and parcel with the confidence he had surrounding him. But there was something distinctly different to this. When the scientist started pouring forth information at barely even a question from him, her brows knit.

"Manny," she said in a whisper, rooted to the spot. He wasn't her boyfriend right now. He was her superior, and he was point on the op. He'd been told to collect as much data about what was being done. Allison had assumed that meant hacking the computers, not the scientists.

She flinched violently at the gunshot, her feet moving without conscious thought. She was at Manuel's side and she tugged at his arm, looking up into his face. His eyes were glowing. She tugged harder at his arm, trying to draw his attention away.

"What are you doing?"
