The U.S. Department of Whatever just issued a travel alert for Bavaria!  OH NOES!  So when we go to Germany, they advise us not to hang with Americans and stuff.

Why?  Because some idiots in the military got in a bar fight with some Germans, and now some German group is out to kick some American ass!  Or something similiar.

You know that whole theory, "traveling Americans are loud/rude/obnoxious?" Well, how does anyone know that for sure? I mean, you're going to hear the loud ones, but what about the Americans who first research the culture, observe its customs, and learn a bit of the language before traveling? Unless you talk to them directly, they're not going to stand out as Americans...I am not saying this right but I think you know what I mean.

But anyway this is a weird story.

I know what you mean. Not to mention some of the rude tourists that come here. I swear when I went to the Grand Canyon there was the most obnoxious group of Japanese college students. Maybe Americans do talk in a louder tone, but I think you can find rude tourists from all over.
