It’s been a year since Dongwoon and Kikwang started dating. A lot of things had happened since then. In their last year of college, Kikwang fell sick because his projects and thesis were killing him. He had to be hospitalized for several weeks and when he was discharged, the doctor strongly advised him to take a few more weeks to recover. This made him left behind and Dongwoon graduated first.
Dongwoon almost postponed his thesis because he wanted to take care of his boyfriend, but of course Kikwang refused, telling him he needed to graduate as soon as possible because his father needed him in the company. They argued about it for several times until Dongwoon finally gave up, this time obeying Kikwang’s request, and the latter felt blissful.
It’s not like Dongwoon’s exactly the obedient type. He’s the one who makes people obey him.
Doojoon, Junhyung and Hyunseung graduated several months early from Dongwoon, and currently the former two are working at a computer company and the latter was working as the Professor’s assistant in college, clearly wanted to be a teacher, after all, he passed with flying colors. Half a year later, Dongwoon and Yoseob followed them. Both of the younger’s futures were decided: to be the heir of his father’s company for Dongwoon and continued managing the family restaurant for Yoseob.
Even if he’s working hard catching up, Kikwang had no idea about his future.
Sometimes he was jealous of his friends, they had passion in whatever it is they’re doing. The 2Jun were lucky enough at the company’s offer, since they were gadget freak and Hyunseung really had the gift of teaching. Even though Dongwoon complained his father didn’t need him that badly since his older brother was already in the company, Kikwang could tell he was tired yet he was enjoying it. And as for Yoseob, don’t ask, cooking and all stuffs related to the kitchen, he loved it all.
So...what’s Kikwang’s passion, you ask?
Hyunseung asked him once when they were alone and without thinking, Kikwang blurted,
“Dongwoon.”
Hyunseung blinked and put on annoyed face. Kikwang wailed and buried himself in Hyunseung’s arms, feeling helpless.
He didn’t know if he had any other passion except for the maknae.
***
Dongwoon had been so busy. He was so busy learning and adapting to the new environment. His brother didn’t seem as busy as him, but Dongwoon was sure his first time was like hell too. Dongwoon thought it’d be better if he was busy in the beginning, so later he’d have more time for Kikwang. Lately their conversations were only available at night, and the calls weren’t long like usual, just asking how Kikwang was, and don’t forget to eat etc etc. They only meet in the weekends, resulting in a very needy Dongwoon and a very giving Kikwang.
Dongwoon might not be bombarding Kikwang with his usual possessiveness that much anymore, but he still remembered to mark Kikwang.
As time went by, it was already two months.
Kikwang started to mention several names Dongwoon didn’t know of. He had been so caught up with his work that he didn’t update with Kikwang’s life anymore. He didn’t even asked how was the thesis going, how was college, how was his friends, who he’s hanging with now, every details that he used to ask Kikwang. Dongwoon felt guilty and somehow felt like he’d been left out. Although he knew it’s not true, they just didn’t have the time to talk much, even when they met, it would all be physical contacts and not heart to heart conversation. Anymore.
Dongwoon gritted his teeth.
Jonghyun, Jinki, Junho, Junsu, whatever their names were, and how come they’re all started with the letter J, Dongwoon didn’t want to know.
His heart was filled with jealousy, but he kept it inside, because so far, they only hang out at the library or when they had to chase a Professor about their thesis. He tried to be rational because Kikwang also needed friends, now that the others had graduated.
Dongwoon sometimes regretted the decision that he graduated first.

“Hi baby,” Kikwang said happily when Dongwoon called.
“Hey,” Dongwoon could feel himself smiling, hearing his loved one’s voice. “I miss you. How’s today going?”
“Hm, today was fine. My thesis’s almost done. Just one more chapter and then we can party.”
Dongwoon chuckled. “Just don’t be too tired, okay? I don’t want you to be hospitalized again. It made me panic.”
“Well, don’t worry, lately I’ve been having fun. Like today, I went out with the guys to the mall. I think I haven’t go to the mall like, ages.”
Kikwang gasped inaudibly as he finished the sentence. He could feel Dongwoon froze on the other line.
Oh great. Now Dongwoon’s gonna be angry.
“You went out?”
“Uh, yeah...”
“Did you tell me? Or you did, but I was too busy so I didn’t check the inbox? Or you didn’t tell me at all?”
Kikwang face palmed at his own stupidity.
“I thought we agreed about telling me before you go anywhere. Did you forget?”
Dongwoon’s voice was dangerous, and whatever Kikwang was gonna say, it was useless.
“I’m sorry, Woonie...”
Dongwoon cut their conversation by ending the call first, leaving Kikwang winced.
Now it’s gonna take longer to convince Dongwoon that there was nothing, than to convince his Professor about his thesis.
***
Kikwang stared at his phone gloomily. It stayed silent since last night. He sent a text message to Dongwoon this morning, wishing him a great day and that he loves him so much, but it stayed silent until lunch break was over, and finally he had to go home.
“Yah! Why the gloomy face?”
Kikwang looked up and forced a grin at Jonghyun. “Just thinking. Going home already?”
“No, gonna accompany Key for a while. He had his eye on the white shoes yesterday and decided to buy it. So we’re gonna go to the mall...wanna come with us?”
“I don’t want to be sandwiched between,” Kikwang grinned. “Nah, I think I’ll pass.”
“I won’t sandwich you, after all, it’s gonna be Key’s hand that I’m gonna hold and not yours, and you’re not gonna be between us, we’re gonna walk first and you’re gonna be left behind,” Jonghyun said jokingly and they both laughed.
Dongwoon stared at the view, curled his hands into fists and gritted his teeth hard. He had no idea how he got here in the first place. All he knew was that his mind was disturbing him with jealousy, afraid of Kikwang being touched by someone else, someone he didn’t know, and all the irrational thoughts, and when it was lunch time, Dongwoon dashed from his office, almost crossing the speeding limit and arrived at the campus.
He noticed Kikwang looked sad, had been staring at his phone and his hand moved immediately to his pocket. And this damn attractive dino looked alike male had to appear and they laughed. They laughed. The jealousy was enough. So Dongwoon walked to his boyfriend, grabbing his arm, nodding to Jonghyun and started dragging Kikwang away. Jonghyun was left blinking confusedly, and Kikwang couldn’t even make a sound because Dongwoon looked so furiously silent as he started the car and drove away.
Thank God his apartment was not that far, because Kikwang almost couldn’t stand his fear and Dongwoon was, desperate to mark Kikwang at the moment.
It was an angry sex.
Dongwoon didn’t even wait until Kikwang’s bedroom, he sprawled him on the table Kikwang used to write his thesis. With one swipe he threw the books and the papers were scattered on the floor and started undressing Kikwang. They went on a liplock session rather roughly and Kikwang gripped Dongwoon’s shoulders tight, afraid he might fall from the table. Being angry doesn’t mean he’s not aware of the fact, his arms wrapped around Kikwang protectively. Dongwoon was, and will always be surprisingly gentle when it comes to Kikwang.
Even though his kisses were sometimes fierce and Kikwang thought he might die due to lack of oxygen, but Dongwoon’s thrust into him were slow, and somehow loving. Kikwang understood perfectly the meaning of make love, thanks to Son Dongwoon, because his touches were always addicting, his kisses were burning, and not even once Dongwoon let go, either it was their hands intertwining or his arms safely locked Kikwang on his body.
It was heaven.
Kikwang loved the way Dongwoon kissed him, because everytime he did, Kikwang felt owned. Dongwoon had always kissed him in a way as if to say that he’s Dongwoon’s only and didn’t belong to anyone else. And he made it clear since the first time they made love, that Dongwoon wasn’t gonna let anyone else touch Kikwang ever again. Property? No. More like, Dongwoon’s possession.
Kikwang broke the kiss at another thrust, throwing his head back in pleasure, crying Dongwoon’s name. Dongwoon leaned forward to claim his lips back, and yet Kikwang broke the contact again. Another thrust, another cried, and Dongwoon claim the exposed neck, biting and sucking so it’ll leave marks. Soon they both cried in unison,as they both climaxed, panting and sweating, and Dongwoon refused to pull himself out of Kikwang. Kikwang only smiled shyly with cheeks colored, as Dongwoon smiled back and causing butterflies in his stomach to burst.
He felt owned. He felt craved. Most of all, he felt loved.
***
A week after that, Kikwang brought Dongwoon as they went double date together with Jonghyun and Key.
Jonghyun noticed the way Dongwoon wrapped his arms around Kikwang, so protective, too protective perhaps, but hey, this is Lee Kikwang that we’re talking about, the popular male with his innocent smile, unaware that he’s making hundreds of fanboys fainted just by flashing his killer smile. He smiled and couldn’t help but understanding Dongwoon’s feelings, he was also like that too with Key, but perhaps they’re different. Jonghyun trusted Key, and Dongwoon didn’t seem like the type who would let Kikwang went all by himself.
And another week after that, Kikwang brought Dongwoon to the party Jinki held, because their thesis were finished and they were glad their pain was finally over. Dongwoon didn’t seem to believe Kikwang’s new friends (except Jonghyun and Key, they’ve been talking quite a lot since the last meeting) that easy, but at least Kikwang was just introducing his friends, so he wouldn’t be so surprised if he ever mentioned their names again.
Dongwoon was finally adapting to his work environment and was thinking of not leaving Kikwang again. He didn’t know how. Get him a ring? A couple ring? An engagement ring? A wedding ring? What’s the difference, they’re all rings. They had a conversation the other night, Dongwoon asked him what he’s gonna do after he graduated, but Kikwang couldn’t answer, saying that he had no idea what kind of work he’d like, or where he’d apply.
Kikwang’s probably gonna go back to his hometown for a week or two, seeing his parents because it’s been years since he met them, and once again, Dongwoon was afraid. He loved Kikwang too much that he’s afraid getting separated from the shorter male, even just for a couple of days. He knew he shouldn’t be a possessive fool, but he couldn’t help it. Maybe marriage was the answer?
Nah, too soon. Dongwoon was still young, not to mention he’s a year younger.
Dongwoon’s phone vibrated and he quickly answered it. A cheerful voice was heard.
“Woonie~~”
“Yes, Kwangie?”
“I was wondering if I can go swimming with Jonghyun and the rest of the gang tomorrow...can I go?”
The thoughts of Kikwang shirtless, surrounded by males, with his toned abs, and flat stomach, only in his swimming boxer flashed wildly in Dongwoon’s mind. He was half shouting, “No.”
“But it’s summer, Woonie...can I go, please?”
“No,” Dongwoon said sternly. “You can’t. Just tell Jonghyun-hyung that I’m not allowing you to.”
Kikwang made a sound. “Can you come with me if you’re feeling worried?”
“I’m not allowing you to go swimming with them, Kikwang, and that’s final.”
Unless you can swim with a shirt on. Wait, no, if the shirt’s wet then his curve will be revealed too. Big no no.
Kikwang sighed. “Okay, baby...”
He hung up and dialed Jonghyun’s number. As soon as it was picked up, Kikwang smiled bitterly.
“I can’t go tomorrow. Dongwoon didn’t allow me to...yeah, I know, it’s okay though. Have fun Hyung.”
Kikwang tossed the phone under his pillow and pulled the blanket over his body.
He wondered why Dongwoon was being so possessive, yet it never bothered him. It must be because he loved Son Dongwoon too much.
***
Since Kikwang wasn’t allowed to go swimming, Dongwoon told him to come over to his place. He’d never been to Dongwoon’s apartment before, it was always his apartment they used to hang out, or to make love. Kikwang knew his boyfriend was rich, but when he was standing in front of the said place, he never knew he’d be this rich. He gulped, staring at his loose shirt, jeans and sneakers, wondering if he was allowed to go inside the exclusive apartment.
For a moment he thought if he’s ever worth for Dongwoon. Judging from the situation, it should be him, Lee Kikwang, that should be possessive of Son Dongwoon, not the other way around, because he was sure there were lines of people craving for Dongwoon. Rich, handsome, with a bit Arabic blood, tall, rich, handsome...and he picked Kikwang of all people?
And why did he realize this when they were already dating for a year and a half?
Kikwang suddenly wanted to go home, crying, if Dongwoon didn’t appear, looking very handsome, in the same style as his. The difference was Dongwoon’s looking very elite and Kikwang looked...he didn’t know the right word to describe himself.
Dongwoon realized Kikwang was staring when he pushed a button on the elevator. “What’s wrong?”
You looked so Godwoon, Son Dongwoon.
Kikwang only shook his head, looked down, feeling ashamed of himself, and Dongwoon frowned.
The elevator made a ding sound when they’ve arrived. The door was opened and Dongwoon stepped out, grabbing Kikwang’s wrist to follow him. It was an indoor swimming pool, but no one was there. Kikwang blinked several times before finally opening his mouth to speak.
“Woonie?”
“You said you wanted to go swimming.”
Ah? Yeah. Yeah, he said that. But perhaps Dongwoon forgot the lines with his friends.
“I had to rent it so we can have it all to ourselves.”
“Eh? Why did you do that?”
Dongwoon gave him a look. “I don’t want anyone else to stare at you.”
Kikwang only blinked some more, then his lips curved into a shy smile. Why was his boyfriend being so sweet? He was jealous. “But I didn’t bring any swimming material...”
“I got it for you, I know your size, remember?”
Kikwang blushed at Dongwoon’s bluntness and bumped on his back as Dongwoon stopped walking. He rubbed his nose and followed Dongwoon’s stare at a chair. Several towels were folded neatly and a black swimming boxer was on it. The taller one was already in his swimming boxer when he undressed himself, and Kikwang found himself blushing at the perfect sight of Dongwoon’s shirtless body. God, he’s been clinging at the body forever, both make love and angry sex, why he couldn’t still get used to it?
Dongwoon frowned at him. “Go get change.”
“Here?”
“Yes, here. I’ve seen every curves of your body, and shouldn’t you stop being so embarassed about being naked in front of me?”
Kikwang wished Dongwoon wouldn’t have to say it like that... After all, whenever Dongwoon started undressing himself, his eyes were shut in embarassment, and he just kinda let the former did everything for himself. Kikwang played with the end of his shirt, still feeling shy of the thought of pulling his shirt in front of Dongwoon. In the end, the younger one didn’t seem to be so patient anymore and he helped Kikwang pulled the shirt over his head and tugging his jeans downwards, before pulling the swimming boxer up, covering his lower part perfectly.
Kikwang had been grabbing Dongwoon’s arms and looked flushed.
Dongwoon held the urge to kiss Kikwang right there, as his eyes traced at Kikwang’s body, his hickeys were almost everywhere. His marks.
This is exactly why I don’t want you to go swimming.
Kikwang felt a pair of soft lips on his, as it to wipe his embarassment, to give him courage.
“It’s only me, baby.”
Yes, it’s only Son Dongwoon, and he’s alone enough to make Kikwang’s heart raced like a car.
***
Kikwang forgot how long since he had fun swimming. They were laughing, splashing water at each other like kids, and shook his head violently when Dongwoon asked him to go to the deeper zone. He had drowned once, and he’s not gonna drown again. Dongwoon told him not to be scared because he’s with him, but Kikwang stubbornly refused, only to find himself be pulled to the center of the pool seconds later. His scream was audible, and Dongwoon laughed, amused. Kikwang forgot about his fear for a moment and stared in awe.
His boyfriend laughed.
And he looked even more handsome.
Dongwoon had never laughed before. Sure he did, but to laugh whole heartily like this...Kikwang felt his heart stopped. He was being to possessive and worried about his own thoughts and his current work, that frowns never left his face. Dongwoon smiled softly and kissed his wet lips, telling him it’s okay, that he got Kikwang.
After an hour or so, Kikwang felt exhausted and they got out of the pool, headed straight to Dongwoon’s apartment on the upper floor. Dongwoon took a shower first before taking turns with Kikwang. When Kikwang was done, Dongwoon was sitting on his bed, motioning him to come closer. Dongwoon liked the fact that Kikwang was wearing his shirt, and did summer always felt this hot?
Dongwoon was lying on his back against the pillows, and Kikwang settled himself on his lap, their fingers intertwining.
“I should go home...”
“No, stay.”
Dongwoon was back to his usual self, possessive, protective, confident, mature, all his serious side. However, Kikwang noticed he was hesitant about something.
“What’s wrong, Woonie?”
“Your graduation’s coming soon. Have you decided where to apply for work yet?”
“No,” Kikwang rolled on to his side, resting his head on Dongwoon’s shoulder. “But I guess I’ll be very busy then.”
Kikwang had already experienced a very busy Dongwoon and he was so patient about it, thankfully. But Dongwoon wasn’t so sure if he’s gonna be able to handle a very busy Kikwang. He’s being selfish, he knew. So far, Kikwang had been adjusting his schedules with Dongwoon, but what if Dongwoon was the one that had to adjust? Dongwoon almost died thinking of it.
Dongwoon was not ready.
“You’re still gonna be my number one, baby, even if we rarely meet.”
Not enough.
“I’m still gonna call you everytime I can.”
Not enough.
“It’s not like we’re not gonna be able to meet...”
Still not enough.
Dongwoon stared at Kikwang. “I got something for you.”
Kikwang frowned. “What is it?”
“It’s on the table.”
Kikwang turned his head slowly to the round table at the center of the room. He glanced at Dongwoon again before standing up and walked slowly to it. It was a box. A small box. Kikwang was scared of what’s inside. If it was a ring, he’d throw the box right away as if it’s a hot coal. He wasn’t ready. He was still young. Kikwang gulped.
Dongwoon bit his lip, feeling uncertain of what might happen. Either Kikwang say yes or refuse.
But then again, why wouldn’t he be ready? Kikwang loved Dongwoon. He couldn’t love anyone else anymore, so whatever it is that he’s proposing, why not say yes? He only felt secure with Dongwoon, and isn’t that what’s important in a relationship?
Kikwang opened the box slowly and blinked. It wasn’t like what he thought. It wasn’t a ring.
It was a key.
Kikwang’s eyes widened as he stared at Dongwoon.
“Will you move in with me?”
“Move in?”, Kikwang repeated dumbly.
“Yes, move in with me. That way...I would be able to see you everyday. I would be able to drive you every morning to your interviews, to your work, and by the end of the day, I’d be able to pick you up, and driving you home. I’d be able to hug you in the morning, and hold you at night. Even though we’re separated for a few hours, I’d be okay, because I could still see you, meet you.”
Kikwang was speechless. Dongwoon didn’t sound possessive just then. Okay, his sentences were obviously full with the feeling of wanting to own Kikwang for himself only, but other than that... He sounded...hopeful.
“Please think about it. You don’t have to answer it now...”
“...but, Woonie...”
“Yes?”
“I feel like I’m...”, Kikwang trailed off.
“Please don’t tell me you’re not worth it, because you are.”
Kikwang looked up and his eyes were teary. “I am?”
Dongwoon looked serious and nodded. “You mean everything to me. Please stop thinking you’re not.”
You mean everything to me too, Woonie...
Silence.
“Woonie...”
“Yes?”
“...yes.”
“Huh?”
“I said yes,” Kikwang sniffed happily and threw himself at Dongwoon. “Yes, I’d move in with you.”
Dongwoon’s eyes widened, his expressions changed from shocked to looking very relieved. “You would? For real?”
“Yes,” Kikwang laughed at how he looked so uncool for a moment. Finally, a different side of Dongwoon that he got to see. “Yes, for real, baby.”
Dongwoon sighed in relief once again, leaning forward and kissed his lips briefly, before pulling him into a tight embrace.
“Thank you.”
They stared at each other a little longer before Dongwoon’s expression was back like usual. Kikwang smiled.
I love my possessive boyfriend.
“Hey, Lee Kikwang,” he caressed Kikwang’s lips with his thumb.
“Hm?”
“You’re mine, you know that?”
Kikwang smiled and leaned into the touch.
“I know. I’m yours, Son Dongwoon...”
And that’s all Dongwoon needed to hear, before pulling Kikwang closer for a passionate kiss.
End.
