[Morning: 851 Goldberg]

[In the early morning, Olivier sits on the porch waiting for the delivery from the milkman. Today, she will take responsibility for drinking the milk. Not that she really wants to, but if it kills her, then that's one less day in this truth-forsaken place.  And, if any of her houesmates challenge her, she will ask them if ( Read more... )

Someone has to, unless you don't mind one of us having homicidal tendencies.

[She stares at the girl as she downs the milk, and waits for something to happen.]

[Aigis stares back, ready to do what she must if something goes horribly wrong with Olivier.]

If I am part of this family, fake or not, I have to drink too, if anything. I'm not above suffering, so next time please consider me?

[Olivier is uncharacteristically moved by the girl's words. She frowns at the milk bottle, recalling Hawkeye's explanation of the different kinds of milk. Hormone-free. She growls under her breath.]

The adults should be shouldering this burden.

[Hawkeye had been waiting for the opportunity to catch General Armstrong for the last two days, but work had kept her otherwise occupied. She'd made brisk work of the walk from the hospital to the flower shop, and arrived all of one minute before the shop was to close. She found a young woman standing at the counter and asked for Olivier by the woman's first name, hoping that Armstrong was here today--and free to talk.]

[Olivier recognizes the voice and makes her way to the counter, scissors still in a death grip.]

Your wounds? What happened to them?

[ooc: forgive her exaggerated look of shock, she did drink the hormone-free milk today]

[She stares, shaking her head slightly, jaw set.]

When do you get off work, Major General?

[ooc: I made a mistake earlier. In the notebook that Hawkeye shows her, the information about the types of milk *shouldn't* be there. I keep the links to the OOC posts for my own reference but really all she knows is that 1. If you drink the milk, bad stuff happens BUT 2. If you don't drink the milk, someone in the house is droned into becoming a killing machine that recalls what happens. I'm REALLY SORRY ;-;]

[She looks to the clock and sets down the scissors, a grin spreads across her face.]

Actually, it's about time to close.

[She rounds the counter and flips the closed sign.]

[OOC: First of all, she's going to ask some questions, just to make sure you're not a drone.]

Where are you from?

[Ukraine looks over from arranging some of the flowers. If anything, her accent gives her away as someone whose not from here.]

Oh hello. I'm from Ukraine you could say.

[She nods, glad that she isn't working with a drone.]

How long have you been here, in Mayfield?

[Florists are not a thing Thor had much experience with before coming here. That said, he is rather taken aback by the violence with which this one is cutting those flowers - it's a motion he associates more with the forceful removal of limbs, not the shortening of stems.]

Have the flowers done you some insult?

[She stops her pruning, and looks up at him, a snarl on her lips.]

I would have to be awfully sensitive to let any kind of flower insult me.

[Thor takes no notice of her bad mood, replying with a grin:]

Then they must have stems of iron, to warrant such force in cutting them!

[Despite that being one of the cheesiest things she has ever heard from anyone aside from her brother, she laughs and attempts to be a bit less forceful with the scissors.]

You'd be surprised how stubborn some flowers are.

Fullmetal.

[She blinks back tears as she sees him,and then gets angry at herself for the emotions that are overwhelming her at seeing the alchemist. The last she'd seen of him, he'd given up his precious alchemy for his brother's body. And it just hit her how touching it had been to see them both alive and well at the end of the ordeal.]

Hawkeye mentioned that you were here.

[She's talking just to keep from thinking.]

Can you, wait, when are you from?

[if he didn't know better, he would almost say that he saw tears there. his brows furrow tight. Hawkeye... Hawkeye told her he was here? Did that mean... did General Armstrong know?]

I was fighting a bunch of Bradley rejects. And then... Lieutenant Hakweye they -- [he feels sick. this was hitting way too close to home in more ways than one. he was there the first time her throat was slit open and he was there the second time. just standing there. watching.] -- they were trying to force Colonel Mustang to open the Gate. The last thing I remember was going through it myself.

[She's feeling all kinds of rage for him, and her grips tightens on the scissors. She takes a deep breath and tells herself it could be worse, the town could have pulled him from when he started to perform his last transmutation. It almost seems worse to tell him what he is missing. So she decides to ask.]

I was there at the end of the battle, and for a little while after. Do you want to know what happened?
