Ino's comprehension of Christmas didn't run much past shiny presents and such but she definitely had the looking like a kid on Christmas morning thing down pat as she half-danced half-bounced her way into the preserve with Zack after the dishes had shooed them out of Café Fina for the day

"It's not hard," Zack promised, grinning and bouncing in place. Between the two of them, they were going to just giddy the preserve into submission, weren't they? "I mean, even kids can do this stuff, you know? You just focus on a target, and then kinda concentrate on letting the materia do its thing."

My, what a very technical explanation that was, huh?

That was totally a word, really. Shush.

Ino bounced more (the preserve would never be the same!) and held out her hand. "Do I just think, like, 'Thunder!' as a focus, or what? Or just focus on the materia itself?"

"Yes," Zack replied, blinking. "Um. That!"

He didn't know. Usually he just held out his hand and focused on what he wanted to happen, and it did!

"Kinda... picture it, maybe? The Thunder spell. It takes a moment to charge up, so you'll know if it's working or not, honest."

It was totally not her fault that she kept over thinking this stuff. Wasn't magic supposed to be complicated?

Right? Right!

"Charge up?" she asked, turning so she wasn't going to be pointing her hand at him.

Ino was pretty sure that zapping Zack by accident would be a poor way to start the lesson.
