Wrong way, girl. [Greed]

She isn't sure how she got here in the first place; trying to use the power of Twilight to navigate the Nexus had been a bad decision as the translocations didn't exactly synch up correctly.  Or at all.  The lastest attempt to find her way back home had landed her in a jungle, unable to open a portal at ALL and faced with nasty, angry creatures ( Read more... )

If it is, it's added a new factor to the game. Random Looting Stranger With Knives. Don't get caught in the crossfire, because even though he throws those things with uncanny accuracy bordering on the supernatural, there is still space between him and the zombies and he is not a telekinetic.

Still, he's interesting to watch, isn't he? Almost as though the fight is more of a dance--not a single motion wasted as he whirls, pivots, ducks and dodges, knives glinting brightly in the yellow sunlight, leaving trails of zombie blood and ichor in ribbons that patter onto the ground, further staining the creatures' pricey clothing.

"..."

There's not much you can say upon seeing something like this. She takes a leap back, further and slower than conventional physics would allow, as the blade-wielding thing and its shambling followers parade by.

A part of her almost wants to assist him... only he doesn't look like he actually needs assistance. One of the zombies that wander too close to her take an aggravated interest and she recoils with a sneer. With a sweep of her arm, she sends the thing flying into the whitewashed posts of a storefront.

"Hey! You might wanna keep a leash on these things!" She snaps at the cloaked creature.

"Believe me, miss, when I say they aren't exactly mine to put a leash on," he answers in an oddly cultured voice. A few more zombies are cut down with a precision bordering on the surgical and a grace not only bordering on the balletic but past customs and in the nearest hotel, by now. He moves faster than a human should. More fluidly than a human should. Not in an obviously unnatural manner, just that small amount past what one would normally think a human capable of that gives one pause.

That's usually the tiniest fraction of a moment he needs to, say, take down a circle of men with guns or, in this case, the last of the marauding zombies and their little dogs, too.

When the last one falls with a horrific gurgling sound, he sheathes his knives and takes a step away, pauses, and then relieves the corpse of the mobile phone that fell from its clothing. Then he approaches Midna. "I hope you are not injured?" he asks.

She blinks. "I'm... fine." Superhuman speed or strength happens all the time, especially in the Nexus. But she hadn't expected him to ask about her well-being first after going through all of that. This, is what she finds odd.

"What... about you? You look like you've got all your limbs but with that cloak it's hard to tell." She's stepped out to meet him amongst the not-so-unread remains around them. "What were they all? They looked a little like ReDead, but I've never seen ReDead so... decayed before." He curls her lip in disgust at the mess at her feet.

"Believe me, it's doing that to all of us." Batman's following the shadows, having completely lost the people he was traveling with before. He can't quite figure how to leave, as much as everything about the place is putting him on edge.

It's not the first ruined city he's been in.

She turns. A twili's eyes contain internal light reflectors, like a cat's. For a moment, they catch the light with a red glint. He may be following the shadows, but shadows are what she's seen through her whole life.

"Nice suit." She smirks. He doesn't exactly look harmless, but if he'd wanted to attack he wouldn't have said anything. "You're trapped here too, I'm guessing? What's going on here? This place looks like the kind of place you'd tell children about to scare them."

"Didn't you get the memo at the party?" He tilts his head. How do you miss being kidnapped?

"What party? Ugh, look, I took a wrong portal back there and suddenly I wound up here. Not here, here but in the jungle, here. I don't know about any party." She said irritably. She hated being the one out of the know and she wasn't doing a very good job of covering up the aggravation. Of course, after being attacked by an angry dire eagle and falling under a disgusting eating spell and not having a clue as to why, anyone would be a little irritable.
