The Rising Tide [Wrath]

It looks like the battle is over. Akihiko should be happy. He really should be, but he's too damn frustrated. Everybody keeps getting in his way. Ignoring him, treating him like he's useless when he's probably the best prepared out of the group. Mitsuru's trying to fight in a party dress, for God's sake! The thought makes him pause slightly. A bit of snapping and rustling in the underbrush shows that he's not the only one to leave the group. Mitsuru isn't quite sure why she's following him; really, the only reason that keeps coming up in her mind is that she doesn't trust him on his own. (And when she tries to figure out why to that, she doesn't get any other answer. Just the feeling that she needs to keep an eye on him.)

She doesn't call out to him just yet, but she doesn't bother to hide herself, either. For the most part, she's trying to keep anymore plants and twigs from sticking in her dress...Even though that's alreay looking like a lost cause.

With all the noise that he's making, Akihiko would have to be paying a lot more attention to notice Mitsuru following behind him. Unfortunately, storming through the woods isn't actually making much progress, so he slows down slightly. The pace helps him calm his mind, though the anger is still there.

He's about to start doing some of his training exercises to calm himself further when a familiar roar comes from somewhere on his left side. A bear won't be easy to take down, but it should give them plenty of food.

Screw this, he's sprinting towards the noise.

Oh, no-

This isn't comfortable. Not in the least. Mitsuru almost feels a root catch at her feet as she tries to catch up to him, and whatever made that noise. She winces as another stick snags in the skirt of her dress, and pushes through that, still running after Akihiko.

And she's so focused on catching up to him that she doesn't fully realize there's a clearing just a few feet ahead of her. She bursts completely through the last of the plants, and finds herself looking at Akihiko and-

Mon. Dieu.

...That's a VERY large bear.

Akihiko spots the bear as soon as he bursts out past the tree line into the clearing itself. It wouldn't be hard to spot, considering just how big it is. He can't really help his grin. There will be plenty to eat.

He doesn't slow at all as he moves towards the bear; in fact, he tries to will his legs to move even faster. The bear isn't prepared to fight back just yet, and that's just the sort of advantage Akihiko likes.

He launches himself at the bear, his left fist leading the way as he slams into the creature.
