I don't avoid procrastination entirely, I use it as a reward. I'm physically incapable of just sitting down and writing essays and stuff, so I make deals with myself like this.
Brain: Ok Rae, you've got to work now. I'll do you a deal- we work together and crank out 300 words, then you can go read ONE fanfiction, got it?
Me: Yay! *works*
Brain: And when we reach 1000 words, you can have a whole hour online to check out whatever it is you like these days, how does that sound!? And remember, the faster you write, the quicker you get to play!
Me: HOORAH! *writes faster*
It's a method that works maybe, 80% of the time. Because I get distracted and one hour turns into four, and one fanfiction turns into half a dozen. *shifty look* Anyway, good luck!
Haha, I do that... except it's with X-men Comics and computer games... Although, when I'm lucky, I might make a deal like ok study these ridiculous salivary glands AND THEN you can study viruses. So the brain really gets a two for one deal.
Well, I'm a fan of the guilt trip... but you don't like that one. What's the topic? The last time I had trouble writing an assignment I decided to look at it from a whole new angle and actually write out a plan (first time ever). In the end I had a fantastic plan that had not been followed in the slightest and one complete assignment.
Hmmm.. I do the whole 'Good Music- cancel internet and make someone call me every hour to make sure I'm not slacking' and then I reward myself with porn genfic and some chocolate *g*
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!! *fails to contain the cheerleader*
Here's one for you: no assignment, no links to Steve Carlson (I HAVE THEM NOW!!!!) I am fully aware you could cheat and get them yourself but I'm sure you won't, heh.
