Personality:
Isabel is a fairly simple woman, as far as the stereotypical "women are so difficult" aspect goes. Ever since she was little, she's always been mature for her age, and definitely more level-headed than most adults she knew. She can easily cooperate with others to get things done, and she's passionate about everything she does. However, while she's rather open about her emotions, she does have a tendency to get quiet when she's angry or sad, and usually bottle up those emotions and smile to keep a peaceful atmosphere.
More times than not, you find her in a calm, reserved mood, and usually plays a motherly figure to her students. Because she's always working hard to keep students' grades in the computers or writing up lesson plans or club schedules, she can occasionally be found sleeping in her spare time as a form of stress-relief.
While Isabel is calm and reserved, she is also very blunt. She'll relay her thoughts on just about everything without a second thought, however, she does tend to avoid confrontation with others. Her blunt attitude can come off as rude to people who do not know her, but she doesn't mean it in the slightest. She wants to make a good impression, and because of that, tries to censor her thoughts when meeting someone for the first time.
History:
Isabel grew up in a large family in Madrid, Spain. If it wasn't her, her parents, and her six sisters at home, it was the whole family- aunts, uncles, cousins, cousins of cousins, and anyone and everyone else. She was the middle child, so attention wasn't something she got most of the time, but she had always been so quiet to begin with, that she didn't mind one bit. At the age of ten, her mother passed, leaving her father to take care of seven girls. It was hard on him, and the girls had to learn to cook and clean to take place of their mother's chores. Isabel was usually stuck cleaning the most, with the older girls going off to school and the younger girls not old enough to really comprehend what they were supposed to do.
Aside from that, she grew up normally. She went to school, cooked, went out with friends, danced in the streets for fun, and just about everything else a normal teenager would do. When she turned sixteen, Isabel decided she wanted to help others, and while she never cared for charities, she had always enjoyed playing the teacher in a game of "school" with her younger sisters. After giving it a lot of thought, she decided that would be her career path, even though her father didn't particularly agree at first. They had argued about it countless times before he finally agreed to send her off to college for a degree.
While in college, Isabel learned more English than in high school, and became pretty fluent, even if her accent was there to stay. It was in her final year of school that she decided to move to the United States, more specifically New York, to teach there, but it wasn't until it was almost time to leave that she decided that the Big Apple was not the place for her. Although she loved the possibility of becoming a huge professor somewhere in New York, her heart told her to pick a place that was more laid back, and it wasn't until one of her sisters mentioned the good ole state of Hawaii that she fell in love with the beaches and palm trees.
A month later, Isabel boarded the plane, heading for that sun-filled state, ready to start her own life away from her home country.
Trivia:
• She loves fruit. Just about every meal she ever eats consists of at least some type of fruit.
• Her cooking skills are phenomenal, although she'd tell you it's just average. Her specialty is Spanish food, for obvious reasons.
• She has two dogs, both female- a
Cocker Spaniel named Rosalita and a
Bedlington Terrier named Guadalupe.
• Isabel has a tendency to talk in her sleep. The topic is usually unknown and mostly undecipherable, as it is almost always in Spanish.
