Why. Are people STUPID?

Since I have a fair-sized f-of list...

  • pornish_pixies, you may have heard, got suspended today. No warning to the mod, and she's working on it. ETA: Looks to be permanent. See here.

  • There are other comms that say suspended. Me (PC/firefox), I can see which is deleted and which is suspended by clicking the comm name, but evidently for some folks it just shows ( Read more... )

Sadly the "warriors" are deleting comments - and do not state if they are logging IP addresses. :(

Oh, I know. I'd just rather they took their time doing THAT instead of being fuckwits.

The ETA I just put in to Femme's explanation of the pornish sitch... In am too pissed off to be coherent, and not on behalf of anything I ever wrote, or fic I might one day want to reread. No, I'm steaming because of the precedent it sets to suggest that listing an INTEREST in something illegal is a TOS violation, because of the notion that LJ has just TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY for content by requiring deletion for that, because of the notion that listing that interest constitutes promotion...

I'm hoping that anony thing before the link makes it not IP track neatly.

I am, in all honestly, QUITE tempted to report a (dead) comm with incest as an interest which is (was) a legit comm for, say, incest support, and see if it gets TOS'ed. Because if it doesn't then it's a judgment call about content, and that scares the living shit out of me.

Flora - what about wizard_trauma? No user interests, though. Smart, you.

OMG, I just thought of that. Talk about careful and sensitive treatment of these kinds of topics.

I have a post where I'm collecting answers from LJ Abuse, because they've given out some answers that appear to conflict with the TOS (which, to be charitable, is quite likely due to them being swamped, but it doesn't mean we have to live with it). Comments screened, anonymous posting alllowed.

There really are no words. Pixies was a jewel, simply irreplaceable. Fiction is NOT real. That should go without saying, but clearly someone needs to say it to these idiots, and to LJ too - surely they can differentiate between a journal that hosts fiction on controversial topics and pedophiles trolling for victims.

What's next, deleting the journals of crime writers because they encourage murder? Thank you for posting on this - I'm so fringe in fandom now that I might have missed it otherwise.

Yep. "Steaming" doesn't come anywhere NEAR my state of mind, and that's not because of the fic; it's because of the principle.
