Story: "Fallen embers"

This was sparkled by a fic challenge on "eros athanatos". The challenge was to write a songfic and to include the lyrics of the song into the story. I never wrote a songfic before, but I wanted to try to make the song's lyrics part of the narration itself, and not just a quote. The song I chose is "fallen embers" by Enya - hence the title. The formatting was a bit hard to read, but the sensual details were delicious, Florachan! Hot damn, I ought to have you look over my Alexander pieces because I can really feel the culture and the time period radiating off your piece!

Maybe I should have left a space between each paragraph? that way it would have been easier to read, but I never pay too much attention to format...;P

Beautiful and delicate and true to the characters. Wonderful imagery and coloristic and rhythm. I'm not usually fond of songfics, but this piece is a lot more than that. Thank you.

Thank you very much; I'm usually not fond of songfics too, and that is why I tried to incorporate the lyrics right into the story. I'm pleased to know my little experiment worked for you..:)
