Like every year, it’s Ueda Tatsuya’s birthday.
Like every year, he gets many wishes from his friends, family, colleagues, and all other persons.
Like every year, he also gets many presents.
But this year is different though. Tatsuya does not know it yet either, but this year, his birthday is going to be very different.
6 AM.
Tatsuya Ueda wakes up from a nice sleep. He gets up and goes to the bathroom.
Since he has to be early at work, today he’s not going to have his morning run.
Tatsuya takes a look at his face in the mirror. Seems like today is going to be a good day for him.
It is his birthday, that’s why.
7AM.
After taking a long thirty minutes hot bath, Tatsuya finally gets out from the water and walks in his bedroom to get change.
Looking for a nice outfit, he ponders in front of his dressing for one or two minutes and decides for a white V-neck shirt, and black skinny jeans. He also gets his favorite grey hoodie.
8AM.
Tatsuya arrives at work and greets everyone. He gets many people to wish him a happy birthday, and he’s all smiles through his journey to KAT-TUN’s dressing room.
Today, their schedule is not that packed. They only have a few interviews and photos to do.
As he opens the door, he can see he’s not the first one to be there.
Kazuya and Koki are already sitting on the couch, talking about god knows what.
Greeting them happily, he puts his bag on his dressing table and sits in front of it.
Koki and Kazuya also wish him a happy birthday. They even give him presents.
Tatsuya got a new pair of sun glasses from Koki, and a nice pair of vintage jeans from Kame.
Thanking them, he stands up and kiss each of them on the cheek.
Right at this moment, Yamapi enters the room with Junno and Yuichi.
“Happy birthday Tatsuya!” Yamapi greets him with a big smile.
“Thank you Pi! What are you doing here this early?” Tatsuya asks back.
“Kazu told me you guys were here today, so I wanted to give you your present and see your face.” Pi smiles widely and winks at him.
Tatsuya takes the envelope from Pi’s hand and tries to open it, as Yuichi and Junno also wishes him a happy birthday.
Smiling widely, he thanks his colleagues with a wide grin and goes again for Pi’s present.
It’s a card.
“A date? Where is this place?” Tatsuya looks doubtful, as he stares at Pi.
“Don’t ask and just go there after work, ok?” Yamapi cackles and walks away, closing the door behind him.
Yuichi gives him his present as Tatsuya is still looking doubtful at the card in his hands. It’s a small box.
“Thank you Nakamaru!” Tatsuya smiles at him and opens the box, only to find a ring.
A ring.
“Err..” Yuichi says, all blushing. “I thought it would be a good time to finally ask you out?”
10AM.
Taking a break from the first interview, Tatsuya goes out to drink a coffee.
As the elevator’s doors open, he can see someone already inside.
“Morning.” He says, greeting the person.
“Hello Hime ~” Ryo greets him back with a smirk. “I hear today you’re thirty. Congrats!”
“And I understand you are still blind not to see I am not a princess. But thank you anyway.” He smiles, looking down for a reason.
“You still are, don’t worry. Anyway, did you got nice presents from the others?” Ryo asks, curious.
“Yep ~ I got a ring from Nakamaru, though.” Tatsuya says, staring at the other.
“A ring? Did he already propose?” Ryo laughs loudly.
“Did you know something?” Tatsuya looks confusedly at him.
“You should know better, he is your bandmate, afterall.” Ryo winks.
“Tsk! Where is my present from you, then?” Tatsuya stares down at the self proclaimed ‘Sexy Osaka Man’.
“I don’t have one.” Ryo says nonchalantly.
“You don’t?” Tatsuya pouts cutely.
“I can see you like my last present.” Ryo grins, playing with Tatsuya’s sleeve.
“I do. Thank you again ~” Tatsuya chirps.
“You’re welcome, Hime. It was a last minute one though.”
“I got a present, that’s all that matter” Tatsuya chirps once again, as the doors opens, and leaves Ryo sighing.
“So I will need to buy him something again. Spoiled Hime!” Ryo snorts and goes out at his level.
12AM.
Tatsuya just got out of the shower, when the door of KAT-TUN’s dressing room opens on Ryo.
“I guess you’re hungry, so have this.” Ryo gives him a box. “It’s a dessert, so don’t eat it now.”
“Is this my present from you?” Tatsuya blinks his eyes innocently.
“No it’s from Yoko.” Ryo put the box on the table, and goes out again without another word.
“No fun.” Tatsuya sighs.
“What is it Tatchan?” Kazuya asks him, turning around his friend. “Are you upset because Ryo did not give you a present?” he smirks.
“Not at all. It’s not like I was waiting for one anyway.” Tatsuya takes the box and opens it.
“My favorite strawberry mille-crepes!” he exclaims joyful. “Yoko sure knows my liking ~”
2PM.
“Everything is going smoothly, as planned.” Kazuya highs five Yamapi, somewhere in the corridor.
“That’s good. But we still have to convince Ryo-chan.” Pi sighs.
“It’s indeed the hardest part. Or not, I kind of have a good idea.” Kazuya winks at Pi.
3PM.
Tatsuya sighs. Today is his day, and he should be happy. But somehow he’s not. He got many presents. Wonderful ones and weird ones.
But still, he’s feeling disappointed. He pulls his sleeves and hides his face in them.
His day is almost finished already, and he still have a lot of time to celebrate his birthday.
Beside Tatsuya, Kazuya and Koki are smirking to each other.
4PM.
Tatsuya is packing his bags slowly, and grabs all the presents he has to take them home.
He did not meet with Ryo again since noon, and he is feeling sad now.
Placing a smile on his face, he thanks his colleagues, and leaves.
Placing all the presents in his car trunk, he takes out Pi’s card again.
He has to be at a place at 8PM tonight. But he doesn’t have an address or even a restaurant name.
He only has the time.
As he is preparing to go out again, he receives a text from Kazuya.
[Meet me in front of Ueno station at 6pm! Don’t be late, ok?]
He sends an ok and goes to change his clothes. He wonders what Kazuya wants.
5PM.
Tatsuya is waiting but he doesn’t see Kazuya anywhere. He said not to be late, but he’s the one being late actually.
Tatsuya sighs. His birthday is not going as he thought it would.
He turns around a few times until he sees Kazuya.
“Sorry something came up!” He bows to his friend, and grips his arm. “Let’s go then.”
“Where are we going? I had plans you know?” Tatsuya exclaims but Kazuya does not let go of his arm.
“Your plans got canceled. And you have other plans now.” Kazuya grins evilly at him. “I know you will love me so don’t thank me afterwards ~” Kazuya keeps on pulling Tatsuya with him.
“But-“
“No but. Just keep quiet and come with me.”
Kazuya drives them to some place he does not know. It seems like a nice residential area.
They quickly got out of the car, and Kazuya makes them go up an elevator to the 30th floor.
“Where are we?” Tatsuya could not help but ask.
“You’ll see when we arrive~” Kazuya says, and beams at him.
Tatsuya watches as his friend knocks loudly on the door and see it opening on Yamapi.
“Here we are.” Kazuya says and pushes Tatsuya inside the apartment.
“I thought you will not make it!” Yamapi whines a little but let the two others enter the house.
“Sorry, I got chased by some fans.”
“Anyway, everything is ready, we were just waiting for you, Tatsuya.” Pi and Kazuya beams evilly at him.
“What? Why?”
Kazuya and Pi begins to sing the happy birthday song to him, as the lights slowly goes off. Tatsuya could hear a door being closed.
“Eh? Are you leaving me alone here? What?” Tatsuya looks around the place, looking for the lights interruptor.
“I’m sorry Hime, if it’s not what you wanted.”
“Ryo?!” Tatsuya exclaims, all confused. “What are you doing here? Is this your place?”
“Yes.” Ryo turns the lights on, and stands near Tatsuya.
They stare at each other for a minute, until Ryo blushes and turns around on himself to sits on the couch.
“I did not know what to give you as a present, and Pi said he had an idea but he did not tell me. I just got to know a few minutes before you got here.”
“Eh? What do you mean?” Tatsuya did not see it before, but now that the lights are on, and that he is sitting beside Ryo, he can see what he is wearing.
“Pi thought it would be a good idea, to be your present, myself.” Ryo blushes even more, and looks away.
“You are my present?” Tatsuya says slowly, not believing it.
“Well yes. If you want of course.” Ryo gives him a card. “Here.”

“Great!” Tatsuya beams, and smiles widely. “I knew I’ll get a nice present from you, I just had to be patient and wait. Don’t worry, I’ll be all nice and gentle ~” he smirks evilly.
October 5 - 8AM.
Tatsuya wakes up all cuddled up to Ryo’s body. He is warm and all. Tatsuya can’t be more happy.
Yesterday was the best day ever. He got the best birthday present he could wish for. He got Ryo. Nishikido Ryo. He pulls his arm out of the cover and catches his favorite grey hoodie.
The exact one, Ryo gave him last year for his birthday.
“This year is the best. Can’t wait for November 3th!” He grins and kisses Ryo on the cheek nicely.
