Ok, two things:

One, and I suppose you can skip this if you're not a Hufflepuff, there's been a cat or something using my trunk as a scratch pole. Any idea whose cat that might be, or how to keep it away?

Two, what happens if you leave, say, a nail behind when apparating? Because I kinda just noticed I'm lacking one...

Generally the proctors put you back together, but if you've been missing it for awhile, then it'll probably just need to grow back.
