So despite adjustment issues and overall surprise at how a dog can be *that* energetic, Chance is actually settling in very well. He makes good company for me during the day, because he likes to sleep very peacefully for most of it and then he wakes up in the evening and pokes and pokes and pokes me and if I do not rouse, he climbs onto me on the ( Read more... )

He really is! He migrates from sunbeam to sunbeam during a lot of the day, too, which is super cute.

Yay! Chance! Yes, I can imagine that that behavior would be MUCH better at getting you up than an alarm clock.

Dog-cuddling is not the sort of time one tends to regret later, nope. :)

And he really is quite good at escalating from poking to outright climbing onto the bed. I'm trying to teach him not to get on the bed (his prior owners were permissive about beds and couches) but it's hard to be properly firm because I'm giggling about how it's one foot... then another foot... and then a scooch so that half his body is on the bed.... Or once I woke up to catch him curling up in a tidy cat-like ball next to me. He keeps trying but it's hard to be firm because it's so cute!
