Ooh, thank you! I think I've only ever read one other (Either/Or, right?) which is a massive inspiration for this fic. It made me fall in love with Katie/Naomi, so I just had to give it a go.

So glad you think I'm doing a good job! Katie fascinates me, and seeing as other people in the fandom have written her sooooo well it's quite the task to try and write her. I hope I manage to do a decent job!

Thanks so much for reading and for commenting.

I can only apologise... ;) If it makes you feel any better, I don't get much work done these days whilst planning this fic! Surely more interesting than work though!

Right there with you on the Naomi/Katie love. But that's what fan fic is for, exploring not-canon, right? And that's why I love it so :)

Thanks very much, I'm glad there's love for this fic!

Fantastic fic. I've been keen to read a fic that ships Naomi and Katie while still in college. I have to admit I couldn't picture just how Katie would overcome her "hate" for Naomi but you've done it so seamlessly and believably. Mostly I agree with what you said here in response to a comment:

There's something about the dynamic between the three of them where it works when they have their roles but, when one of them starts to change, the others have to change with them. So, by Emily forcing them all to get along, she's making Naomi and Katie change, and I'm not sure she's particularly going to like the consequences of this, later...Katie's entire world has been flipped by her fight with Effy. Everything that she was, was tied up in her "personality" as the fit, confident, dominant, popular twin. She truly believed that she could only be on top if Emily was beneath (not being dirty! getcha mind outta the gutter). But Emily's strong(er) now, has the confidence to go after what she wants and isn't going to kowtow anymore. Katie's got ( ... )

Ooh, thank you for your comment.

I think Naomi would find it hard to keep being bitchy to Katie when Katie's trying - it would just make her look like an asshole. So when Naomi happens to be around when Katie's weak (and not showing it in a way by being a twat to Emily) she can't help but support her.

Basically, this:

Your Naomi recognizes when Katie's feeling like shit and doesn't force her to "talk things through" because if it were her, talking things through would be the absolute LAST thing she'd want to be doing. That alone is enough to garner Katie's (grudged) appreciation.

And seductive writing is a huge compliment - thank you! But, basically, it's all Katie's influence - the sexy just comes along with her, and when you add in a bit of Naomi... well. They just ARE.

Katie doesn't want to lose Emily, ever. So none of this will be easy for her.

Thanks again <3 <3

OKAY, SO. First thing: I am perhaps THE biggest Katie/Naomi shipper out there, so the fact that this seems to be straying into that territory when it's something so few writers have braved = \O/

That said, you have a fantastic writing style that works really well for this story. Katie and Naomi are not like Emily; though they can both be loud-mouthed twats, they're a lot less obvious about the important things. It's often as much about what they don't say as what they DO say, and you've done a great job at picking up on that nuance. Sometimes with them, the small, seemingly unimportant moments are the most telling.

You've also really managed to capture Katie's voice here. Her thoughts and dialogue are all very fitting to a Katie who is a bit broken and a bit lost but still very much Katie. I think everything that's happened to her over the past year has made her a bit more self-aware, in that she has a lot less to hide behind, which works really well for this story. Though not exactly accepting, I think Katie is at least aware that ( ... )

Of course, friend away :) Always glad to have new LJ amigos.

I still can't believe that more people haven't attempted Katie/Naomi, as it seems to make SO much sense to me, but then perhaps it makes the ones out there a bit more special. Hopefully, anyway!

I completely agree - they're rubbish at saying things. Naomi runs away and Katie's a bit of a conniving cow at times, but they both end up regretting their actions. I think that Katie and Naomi get each other, which is why what they don't say is so important, like you've said.

It's really important to me that I retain Katie's voice, so thanks for saying that they're fitting to her. Katie's starting to get it, because Emily's making her. And Naomi... well. I think you might just be right about her!

Thanks again for reading and for your comment :) Glad the Katie/Naomi love is spreading.
