Got Out The Axe

Jan 06, 2004 19:21

I trimmed down my friend's list, and I'm terribly sorry. I've really enjoyed reading each and every one of you, but I think it got to the point where I was spending too much time trying to keep up with it all. It was really hard to pick, so I just invented a bunch of arbitrary rules and slashed blindly. That's more fair a method I guess than any ( Read more... )

Not to rub it in to anyone that got the axe but I'm seriously pleased to not get kicked to the curb.

Viva la flipped or something.

We generally just like to follow you folks out into camp sites and ribbit the whole night in an effort to keep you up. Now that is a fun vacation! You should try it! ;)

I don't want to rub it in either and say stuff like I'd never remove you either. Not that that is a threat or anything, but I think you know what I mean.

So.. viva la flipped! ;)

Actually, no, I'm not. See, I died. This is my ghost replying to your comment. Do you know how hard is to type as a ghost? VERY!

The good part about this though is that I too missed you around here. In fact, me coming back to haunt you is proof of that!

Not yet. We are getting closer though! It's going to take about 9 years though. Hut's take a while to build especially on islands!

I hear you!

It started to feel like a full time job getting through my friends list and oh, the guilt I was feeling to not be keeping up with everyone's posts. Then it occurred to me that I'm sure more than half my list doesn't read mine so why am I even bothering to try and keep up. It seems to be easier to get ruthless when you've been away for a while too. It makes me realise who I've missed reading about the most.

And phew am I glad I escaped the axe : )

Yep, the guilt or sense of obligation was kind of getting to me, and I think you're right about the ruthless part. It seems to become more important to get back to LJ and you feel a bit justified in sharpening the blade. ;)

It's kind of liberating, ain't it? I personally think everyone should say that at the very least five times in their life.

I completely understand the need to trim. keeping up with the reading can be time consuming. I tend to be very cautious about adding someone to my friends list in the first place, so I haven't had to trim much yet. But I'm sure I will.

And thanks for keeping me :) I miss you around here.

Yeah, I had a policy of adding anyone who added me, and it was difficult to throw that away. I mean, how are you not going to say "hi!" to someone who says it first? Still, it just got to be too much to keep up with I think.
