I was flipping through the channels on the TV last night, and PBS had some people talking about reading and providing stimulation to their babies and children. Apparently, this, even though the children don't fully understand it, develops the brain differently. Better. I thought that this was common knowledge?

Frogs are exempt from the reading, because the books get too soggy in the pond. ;)

Well, I think their point was that while reading to kids being a good thing is common knowledge, it isn't that widely known that it changes the physical makeup of the brain.

They did say this part of it was relatively very new information.

We lamenate our books before we take them home! ;)
