I went for a couple of errands Sunday and was approached in each parking lot when I went back to my car. It's always the same thing: can you spare a couple of dollars for whatever. As the economy has become worse, the parking lot visits have become much more frequent.

I'm going to start carrying around a bag of pennies to give them and see what happens.

They should have a button on the ATM that lets you pick pennies as the withdrawal.

I've gotten suckered in parking lots a couple of times recently, too. Once outside the grocery, and once outside a video rental place. Both are places, like the ATM, where a person is very likely to have cash. Plus I think its harder to walk past the panhandler in a parking lot. And yeah, there’s always some story with it. It makes me wonder if these aren’t out of work actors....

I only go to work in one, then exit as fast as I can back to small town style living.
