Did it really? Sheesh, there must be some really dysfunctional communications going at the Daily if they had us shoot for a story that already ran! I guess that's sorta to be expected at a student paper. Anyway, thanks for letting me know!
Bwahaha! Welcome to the dark side! Oops, I mean congratulations on your galloping entrance into grad studentland! This is what I tell myself when I'm in deep over my head w/the study-work-schedule nightmare- I can do anything for 3 months. (I'm usually about a month in when panic sets in) It may suck at times, but there will be an end to it. And as you already know- it can be really fun, too!
Heh, thanks. No panic yet (I expect it will probably set in during midterms). The fact that this isn't even grad school yet, but just undergrad gives me a bit of pause, but I think I'll have learned not to pay attention to drop deadlines and not take so many damn classes by next year, and maybe this was a good thing anyway cuz then it won't be such a shock when I do go to grad school. Or so I think, knowing as little as I know.
Well, one theory behind NaNo is that you can only really get something done when there isn't enough time for it, so this should all turn out all right. In fact, you should get back to your novel, too, in your copious free time.
Time is never really the problem, but just an excuse. I think the real excuse... er... problem is that writing as a creative outlet is competing and losing badly to photography lately.
But for what it's worth, I'm still thinking about the novel and jotting notes down when good ideas occur to me.
