Yeah it's like they get in their own way as much as each other's. Some lessons in tact might help!
Also, there's a time gap between Parts 4 and 5.

“How? You deceive me and keep a promise to Min, who is not only not your friend but also a fucking slave!”
I literally slapped my forehead when I read that. Matt, Matt...
This between them really progress and regress every other minute. I was a bit surprised Alex didn't react stronger to this than he did, but I guess he too could understand that it's not so easy for Matt to change his thinking in one go under the best of circumstances, and especially not when he is constantly hit with new surprises. People who are forced to both reevaluate some core opinions at the same time as they feel they are losing control over a lot of things in their surrounding often don't react that very well to it.
I was relieved though that there was not a total fall-out between Matt and Hollis, that would have been sad.
And the beer sharing/hand holding earlier was kind of cute :-)

(I dimly recall some comments recently where you advertised what you think is appropriate treatment of slaves ahem)

Besides I can be supportive of the view of Min as Matt's slave and still headdesking at Matt's clumsy way of expressing himself. Since he has already (with no regards to any of our views about this in itself) given Min this that he is willing to change how he looks at him, it wasn't really the best thing he could have said in that particular way if he wants to try to keep meeting Alex half-way, which the story now IS about, I guess :-) He could have pointed out to Hollis that Min is a slave, yeah, but did he have to say "fucking slave"? As if Min isn't valuable to him even as a slave. But, as I also said, I understand his reaction in the light of everything Matt has been put through, which hasn't been easy for him either. So... no making me out to be a Matt basher again here now ;-)
