I’m thinking of the train sequence at the beginning of FFVII here; the first time I saw that scene, my mouth dropped open, because it was totally not what I’d been expecting at all.

Ever seen any of FFIX? It's from later in the console's life and offhand I can't think of any more visually appealing games for it.

She’s just not any good at what she does. :/ As Jack’s girlfriend, she’s clingy, whiny, and tries too hard to force emotional intimacy on him, and as a spy for the Patriots she…well, see the above, since none of those qualities are a good way to get close to your target.

Well, on the other hand, that makes it less likely anyone will suspect she's a spy. :) I guess it's a result of the fact that the Patriots' tools are only human? (Assuming Rose isn't a crazy AI!)

So tell me, guys; would this disguise have fooled those MG players back in the days of yore? I know fandom says this disguise is infamously bad, but I think it looks pretty good.Speaking purely personally, I was taken in by Miller until he started accusing ( ... )

I haven't seen FFIX, unfortunately. Come to think of it, I haven't really heard much about it either. How was it?

Yeah, but the average person isn't going to suspect their girlfriend of being a spy anyway. Jack isn't normal, but he wants to be normal, and he doesn't really have a reason to suspect his girlfriend of spyhood anyway. Even after everything that happened on the Big Shell, I doubt the possibility would have occurred to him if Rose hadn't confessed. Or gone crazy AI, whichever happened first. So if that was her plan, then she was just needy and whiny to no purpose. Unless the Patriots though Jacked WANTED a needy and whiny girlfriend, which is...really bizarre even for them.

SO YES THE DISGUISE FOOLED ME, AND YOU CAN LAUGH AT ME NOW.NEVAH. To be honest it probably would have fooled me too if I hadn't already known. It really does ( ... )

Okay when asking questions about Ocelot being cemented into the room with Baker is not bait. The question is why Ocelot would be cemented into a room with Baker and FIFTY MILLION BOMBS. When I played that the first time I kept running Snake into the tripwires and blowing everything up and in those close quarters Ocelot would have been killed as well.

Also: was there even time to do the cementing? Cement is pudding so you need either a form to pour it in or something to stick it to. I don't really see a form being used in those close quarters, or even carrying the form in with the trapdoors everywhere, so that would leave something to stick it to. So they built a brick wall and then cemented over THAT. And even quick cement needs time to cure.

Oh wait I'm sorry obviously the nanomachines built the cement wall.

And that's also how Ocelot expected to survive: nanomachines. NANOMACHINES ARE THE ANSWER TO EVERYTHING.

Actually, nah, that's a really good question. Especially now that we know all about his real plans, thanks to MGS4. Getting killed by Snake would have seriously derailed them. :O Maybe he just couldn't resist taking the opportunity to fight somebody so like Big Boss?

Yeah he probably just couldn't resit the urge to stroke his gun inappropriately while shooting at someone who looks like BB. ALSO NANOMACHINES. IT'S ALWAYS NANOMACHINES.
