....some witch calling herself Grita kidnapped a couple of kids from my ship. She sent some of her flunkies down, we fought back, and....they were too strong for us. One of our boatswains, a guy called Maes Hughes, was killed.

.....If--if there's anything you can do....I mean, this is weird, asking someone to bring someone back to life, but.....he was pretty much the ship dad. A lot of people here looked up to him. Can you help?

Eh? Getting stronger doesn't automatically make you faster, but we can work on your agility. It's not going to be easy on you, and my more advanced training techniques will be painful. Just so you understand.

And understand too, that anyone who can only fight a little is likely to die in a direct assault, even after a month of training. It's always good to learn, but part of that is learning to know your own strength.

You don't have to tell me things like that. It doesn't matter how tough it is, not in a situation like this. I can take anything you throw at me.

You're probably right about that. A month isn't long enough to turn anyone into a seasoned fighter, but do you really think anybody on this ship is gonna want to sit back and do nothing? I think it's better to get them as strong as we can. Then, if it does turn out they're not ready, we can hold them back when we do attack that castle. Kind of a mean move, but it's better than them getting themselves killed. They can man the guns or something.
