It was Isabelle. Of course it was Isabelle. She was one of the finest Shadowhunters in the city, of course she was one of the people who'd been called down to keep an eye on things.

And with good reason, it seemed like.

She leaped at the vampire, whip in one hand, blade in the other. Before the boys had a chance to do anything, the vampire girl's throat was split wide open, her undead eyes rolling back in her head, and like that, it was over. She was dust; she was gone.

Flick started coughing immediately, turning onto his side and spitting to try and get his breath back. Simon continued to stand there, stock still and shocked.

"I had it under control," he finally stuttered. "You didn't have to kill her!"

Flick was still coughing.

"Oh really?" Isabelle asked, whirling around to face Simon. There was fire in her eyes. "She could've killed Jon!"

And if everything else didn't tip them off, they could tell she was angry by how she didn't even call him Flick like she usually did in front of people.

Simon actually looked back at Cartwright, unconsciousness by the door at the name Jon. Safe to say that Flick hadn't really shared his real name with people very often.

"She didn't have to die," Simon told her, trying to stand firm.

"I'm fine, Izzy," Flick said, finally getting to his feet. "It's okay, I'm fine. It doesn't even hurt."

Much.
