[Have sword, will travel. Katie's in the forest today, travelling with ...a purpose. She's hunting for Sigmund's shoe. Though she's also looking just in the hope that she might find a Sanji under a bush somewhere, and may stop to pounce a spider or two (they may survive the experience), and eventually just make a tally of everything she can find ( Read more... )

spiders, sleeping shinigami with sword, sos presidents, stalking, sanji, many things start with s!, action, soldiers with swords, school what school, sigmund's shoe, perfectly sane, sissy the stampede, sparring saints

[Rangiku is under strict orders not to make her home in the bar. Therefore. She is out exploring until an 'acceptable hour.' Not that she really has any cause to follow these strict orders... except she won't really be comfortable until she knows this ground as well as any other place. So she is out wandering the forest today as well. Or she was.

Right now she's just... sitting beneath a tree, not quite asleep, staring up through its branches through lidded eyes. By now she's found Haineko, so her hand is resting casually by its hilt.

There's a beautiful blonde woman with a sword who seems to be asleep in the forest, Katie. What do you do?]

[Rangiku laughs.] That's all right. I'm overdue for a vacation.

Doesn't that mean you can wear something that isn't black, then?

Aaah, maybe. But my captain is here, and he needs the sense of familiarity.

[Rangiku is starting to notice a pattern here, and that pattern is 'wtf, mouth.' She gives Katie a searching look.] But I plan on going shopping in a few days. It's more fun that way.

Your captain? [Considers this.] Does he have a pink scarf, too?

[Laughter. Oh. So amused. She should try to get him to wear one now.]

No, he doesn't. But he's just a little taller than you. With white hair that stands up like this [She indicates it with her hand] and bright blue eyes.

White is a very popular colour. Does he like children?

[Still. Amused.] It certainly seems to be here.

Like children? [Rangiku has to think about this for a moment. Does Hitsugaya actually like anything? In the end, she smiles kindly at Katie.] I think, deep down, he likes many more things than he lets on. But he's a bit like his dragon, you know. He seems grumpy, and he is, but he's really just very, very good.

[...What. the. Fuck. Mouth?]

[OKAY. SIDETRACKED.]

He has a dragon?

Mmm. It's more like the dragon has him. [Rangiku pushes at the boundaries of that compulsion to say more, wondering if she can get away with just a tease.]

Oh, I understand. I have a hamster like that at home.

That must be some hamster.

[And Rangiku decides to take pity on the child and tell her the truth - not because of a compulsion, but because... why not? Her hand wraps around Haineko's hilt.]

The weapon of a shinigami is very special. Our swords are part of us, part of our soul. But they have their own personality as well. Mine is Haineko. [And here she smiles wryly.] And she is lazy and self-centered, and takes the shape of a cat in my mind.

My captain's is a dragon - strong, fierce, and courageous. Also noble, but he takes himself way too seriously.

A cat? Really? [And now she looks so very interested, peering at the sword.] I'm not very fond of cats. [Smile on her face totally says otherwise.]

Aah, that's too bad. [A purr runs across the back of Matsumoto's mind, and she tilts her head slightly to the side before smiling at Katie.]

She likes you, though. Must be a contrary thing. Cats are like that.

[And so are you, aren't you little girl?]

Cats are as fond of me as I am of cats. Could you tell her I said hello?
