[There's a small girl sitting on the fountain edge this morning with leaves in her hair and a ragged bandage around one wrist, kicking her legs idly and looking for all the world like she's bored to tears.

Except for her glare. Which is focused unerringly on one building and one building alone. ...well okay, potentially anyone who walks out of ( Read more... )

Got a problem with the smithy?

[He himself glares quite often at things, but the way the child is glaring at the building and anyone that gets out of it picks his curiosity. She almost looks as if she's trying to set it on fire.]

[He shrugs at that.]

Take it as however you want.

[Which in his language means that he's not enough of a bastard to have a child owing him anything and that he doesn't want so, but at the same time he's the first one to understand that some children would find insulting to have that refused. So she can do as she please, consider that she owes him one or just take it and run, Ikki's fine with both.]

Have you lost anything else?

[Her hat. Bright blue and warm and furry and she still can't find it--]

No, that's everything now. Thanks again.

[Assuming he also brought the sheath with it, she'll sheath that sword now.] Well, now I have a sword I don't quite feel safe. Perhaps I shall go pay a visit to the Malnosso. We can have tea and scones.

[He brought everything that had her lingering Cosmos so the sheath was included in the deal, it would have been stupid to not bring it too if he could feel it there.

Her words mildly surprise him. Not because of the blatant lie, but because it felt as something he would say. Or better said as his way to say things sometimes. An amusing child.]

Today it would be pastries with the tea. Do you want company?

[Blinking at him. Then she smiles.] If you want to. But I could be a while.

Not much to do besides training anyway.

[Besides if he gets bored or annoyed he can always leave.]

Training? Do you need to take lessons to be a saint?

flamesofanger April 23 2010, 16:05:41 UTC
You have to train for everything, there's nothing you can get without a little work at least. But one doesn't need lessons to be a Saint, at least not like I am, just training to be strong enough.

Strong enough for what? [Endless curiosity.]

Strong enough to prove that you're worth of being a Saint and of the armor Saints are given, of course.

Sometimes it's useless to have to prove it thought, those who aren't strong enough die long before the end of the training.

So a Saint is like a knight?

The ones I'm talking about are. We serve the Goddess Athena and fight against the enemies that threat the peace of the world.

There are other saints, thought, ones that just talk pretty words and die without doing much for anything.

[...okay, that's totally cool. You are being marked down in her book as being a Person To Stalk And Fangirl, Ikki.]

You serve a Goddess? [But that's still not as cool as an empress :|] Wow. You must be very busy.

Yes, the Goddess Athena, protector and governor of the whole world I'm from.

[Busy? Actually yes, but it's so common he doesn't get the feeling of being busy.]

I have never had much free time anyway, and in the middle of a war it's only natural to have things to do.
