Is there any proof that Sirius is indeed dead? I mean, there was no mention of Bellatrix saying the actual Killing Curse.

J.K. Rowling has said that Sirius is dead and that death is final and I believe that to be the final word.

j.k. rowling has said many things to mislead us. she said we'd find out more about harry's family and the significance in lily's eyes in book six and we didn't.
and if sirius was alive, do you think she'd just say it and ruin a possible surprise?
i dont trust her unless i read it in the books.

I don't believe that it was Bellatrix's spell that killed Sirius so much as falling behind the veil. He's definitely dead, if you ask me. That doesn't mean we won't see him in the next book as a ghost, Inferi, inspirational voice in Harry's head, etc.

um I dont believe that Sirius could be made an inferi as there is no body to make an inferi from. but other then that I totally agree

Not inferi, but I'll tell you one thought that freaked me out about the inferi in book 6. I was afraid that somehow Harry's parents were going to be used and that is would forever traumatize him.... as it would have traumatized me... *shutter*

he's dead..j.k rowling announced that he's dead!! and we cannot do anything about it..but who knows? j.k. might put him back in the book..may be as a ghost? like nearly headless nick..in hogwarts..hehe

I doubt we'll see him return in the form of a ghost since at the end of book 5 Harry asks Nick about being a ghost and Nick leads us to believe the spirit would have to want to live--and I can't really see Sirius being that afraid of death that he couldn't die. I do see him making a guest appearance, I don't know how, but some how.

I think he'll appeare again somehow too... she left him out of the 6th book SO much, that she has to have some kind of plans for his story line for the many fans of Sirius. Like me. Do it JK.

Since we were the ones who made this uhm, 'prophecy', I am of course going to side with you. Lol. So what if J.K. told everyone that he's dead? She can still change her mind about that, y'know.

I feel that Sirius is alive and is going to make an appearance in Book 7 and he'll also get reunited/married to Remus in book 7. Lol. Riight.

Copy and paste the 'prophecy' at your LJ. JKR could still change her mind. No one found Sirius' body after his disappearance behind the veil/curtain, so.. what could happen? We aren't Seers who can predict the future like Trelawney. I wish we were though.

Everything lies in the hands of JKR especially the 'Sirius marries Remus' bit. The mere thought of Sirius alive makes me anxious, but in a good way. [:

Yeah, but JK wouldn't purposely lie, and she has had this book outlined for about 10 years now, I don't think she would just up and change her mind about anything now. I hope Sirius show up as much as anyone, but I don't want to have false hope because... yeah. That would make ti too heart-breaking if it never happened.
