The other day, as we were walking towards the house, we found an injured little thrush in our front yard that was stuck on its back and couldn't move. People take death in the most convoluted manner. They send out professionally decorated invitations to all the relatives, they spend thousands of dollars on a hollow, wooden box, only to lower it into the ground along with the body of the "man-of-honour", who can't even say, "Thank you!" or, "Nice selection," in appreciation of all the love they've jsut showered upon his souless body. But there were no cards sent out for this little guy - not even an expired phone card lay at the bottom of this round, plastic, smelly, grey garbage bin. "At least it's hollow," I thought; the shoe box, hovering above my kitchen trash can.
