Was reading about him and some tree dwelling kangaroo's that went extinct due to humans hunting them about 20,000 year ago.

And this picture looks the most likely reconstruction I've yet seen.
You can see a bit of Koala, Wombat and Thylacine in its lineage.

It would look like La Bete from The Brotherhood of the Wolf.
Except Carnifex was much smaller, the Beast in that film was about the size of an Ox.
