It's been a long time. I suppose the reason why is pretty simple: I was happy. The stories didn't need to be written down - they were lived. I never understood how lucky I was until now. (Of course, of course.)

The short version: my obsessive and twisted romantic 'friendship' grew into an unexpectedly gentle and warm love. My first love. Over two ( Read more... )

oh, that is wonderful to hear! while sending postcards to strangers (via postcrossing) is very sweet, I rather miss any form of more permanent correspondence. I'll pm you my address(es), but if you'd rather I write you first, do send me yours and I'll get on that as soon as I can!

Actually, that's wonderful. And I didn't know that at all about Scots uni fees!

Scotland is really wonderful with that, and university fees are one of the big issues in the upcoming independence referendum. the more English unis raise their fees, the harder it is for Scottish ones to remain free. although non-Scottish UK students do have to pay fees in Scotland, it is still cheaper for them to study here than it is at many English unis (as far as I'm aware, English unis are allowed to charge 10k/year, and fees for UK students here are around 6k), and while Scotland doesn't have a proper Oxbridge equivalent, its ancients are still well respected institutions.
