That is one amazing list! Your year sounded fantastic.
I've been watching a ton of films this year, and listening to a ton of new albums, but have not been spending time with the good old paperbacks and hardcovers :/ I feel quite guilty about that.
Oh, and I've had the Bobby Vinton song from Blue Velvet stuck in my head for a whole week. "She wore bluuue velvet. Bluer than velvet were her eyes. Softer than satin was the night..." Too bad the movie somewhat ruined the song for me. lol.
Perhaps I'll get some inspiration from you and actually start reading books again in this coming year :]
I'm kind of surprised myself, actually. I mean, there are several months when I read way too little, or didn't go to the movies often enough at all, but the total's pretty nice.
I haven't been that good with music, I must admit. Or well, I do listen to music continuously, but it's starting to be mostly things I find on fanmixes or in random journals. Wonderful way for finding new aural loves, but it wouldn't hurt listening through a whole record every now and then.
Oh, yes, I remember walking around the city after seeing the movie and having the song play in my head over and over. Lynch has a way of making everything rather disturbing. (I still shudder at the memory of the rabbits in Inland Empire. Brr
( ... )
Ah, I've not seen Inland Empire, yet! I'm always behind about 10 years or so on films. haha.
That is so wonderful that your mother is a librarian. It's great being able to have access to all those books. I'll definitely check out the 50 boo challenge community. I'm also probably going to participate in the 101 things in 1001 days challenge as well, which should be motivating.
I'll be looking forward to some of your book recommendations :]
