The bag sags a little open and Sam looks away from the familiar chequered pattern of flannel shirts. The colours seem softer in the fading light of late afternoon.
For some reason that just makes my heart twist. (I might be slightly odd.)

And - sammy, giving the 'divorce' speech... determined to do it better than john, dean not even thinking about trick-or-treating, sam...

It probably says something about my natural inclinations towards cracky premises that as soon as I saw "baby-sit a small boy" my first thought was "age-regression fic?" and as soon as I read "It's been two years" I was like "John got transformed into a child while Sam was at Stanford and Dean is stressed out and wants Same to come help? Awesome!"

I loved this fic. It's funny and touching, and really interesting to see Sam given new insight into his Dad, and what it must have been like for him while Sam and Dean were kids. I adored the Dean-John interaction (N'awww. Dean's parental side! ♥) and loved the Dean-Sam interaction into bits as well. Oh boys, you miss each other so much! I just want to smish you both! (And mmm UST. I love me some UST.)
