Supernatural Picspam Fest
So, because I think some of you might play, this is it…
This is hopefully low-stress, so if it becomes stressful in any way, stop doing it. I wanted to say that first.
How to play: • Pick a theme for your picspam - this is very important. You can pick anything you like, but there has to be a theme. Simply collecting shots you like won't count, unless you can stretch them into a theme of their own.
• Assemble your picspam. You can make your own caps, or there are fabulous galleries such as oxoniensis's, which you can find here. Please don't hotlink; save all images you're using to your own computer. You are welcome to crop, colour and arrange and basically be as artistic as you like. However, if you're happy keeping it simple, that's awesome too.
• Post your picspam in your journal.
• Come back to this post and leave me a comment with a link to your picspam, which I will eventually use to create a masterlist. I'd really appreciate it if you could put something, possibly your theme title, in the subject line of your comment, just so I don't miss them in my inbox.
The rules are these: • Minimum of ten pictures in your picspam. No maximum.
• I'll set a deadline of July 25th for you to get your picspam done, but I'm flexible.
• This is about the pictures, so please don't give a running commentary, and please be sparing with quotations from the show's dialogue. I'm not going to give a limit on quoting because I trust you all to be sensible and not present picspams that are three pictures and 10k of quotation. Obviously, you can give a little explanation at the beginning - I'm not going to be a complete text-tyrant on this.
• Crossovers are allowed but the focus is on SPN. So if you wanted to compare John Winchester with Denny Duquette or evil!Sam with puppy!Jared, that'd be fine, but SPN has to be in there. Jared, Jensen and the rest of the cast - lovely as they are - do not count as SPN; Dean, Sam and the other characters do.
When I say themes, I am not picky. You could decide to focus on a single character, like Sam, or a single pairing, like Dean/Castiel, or a group, like the Roadhouse crew. You could focus on an episode or a season. You could focus on a motif, like women wearing white, or show canon, like the various methods used to fight demons. You could focus on the various motel rooms or particularly scenic shots. You could look at characters of colour who end up dead, or, more fluffily, your favourite Wincestuous moments. Try to be creative. Just so long as you can point at the pictures you've chosen and say 'they're about this' - and this cannot just generally be Supernatural, kay?
