Participate in a Study About Genderswap Fanworks!

So I just signed up to participate in a study about people who read/write/record/create/view/perform genderswap fanworks (so that includes everything, from cosplay to art to vids to fic).  I've never created any genderswap fanworks, but I've certainly consumed my fair share, and I have all the meta thoughts about them, so I signed up.

Damn. I'd love to participate in this study, but I really don't qualify. Writing slash is not the same thing as genderswapping. I've done nothing interesting with gender, I'm afraid. (That could change, but haven't done it yet.)

Oh, well like I said, I've never written any either. If you've read or viewed genderbendy stuff, you can be part of it! (I think the title of the CFP, which says "fanfiction authors" specifically, is a tad confusing. In another part, she says she wants anybody who's ever consumed OR created it!)

Yeah. I have read one story where Merlin is a girl. I don't think that counts. Actually, maybe I've read two stories (one had an illustration to go with it).

Crossdressing stories don't count, right? Or do they?

My fic is pretty straight, in that context, but I've read other stories that might qualify, now that I think of it.

I want to reward rigorous academic work!

Hi! This is Dianna, the researcher. I wanted to thank you for posting my CFP. It has been a great help to me. And thank you for talking with me yourself. It has been wonderful to speak with so many authors and readers about their experiences in the fanfiction community.

Thanks again!
