I am...disappointed with Burn Notice? The last three episodes have not made me happy, so I am watching the first three seasons repetitively to try and find the spark that currently seems to be missing. I'm not quite sure what it is though, so if anybody's got any ideas, feel free to leave them here. Also, if anybody's got any arguments about why ( Read more... )

You are not alone :( I don't find Jesse annoying so much as symptomatic, I guess. I think if the writing was stronger and all the characterisations more consistent, he'd be fine.

I found the first few episodes of seasons 2 and 3 a bit off when I first watched them, but liked them as a part of the whole season when it was done, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the same thing this time ...

Symptomatic, interesting...I did wonder for a moment if what was going on was that J.D. needed a bit of a break. I do recall seeing in an interview? or something some commentary from him about how between the acting and the voice overs it was possible he was a little overextended (reminds me of what Jared and Jensen often talk about in regards to fronting a show with so few regulars).

I am heartened by your observations regarding seasons 2 and 3. I came late to the party (watched everything in the break in the middle of season 3), and I find I am much more forgiving when the next episode is immediately available. I will cross my fingers, too!

The character is annoying, and the actor is not charismatic or strong enough to make it work.

Honestly, some of the episodes in this season and some of last season have been cringe inducing.

But, I have been mostly loving Sam very much!

Sorry to drop in uninvited or without introduction, but I just read your fic about Dean learning to play pool, which was so nice, and I came by to check out your lj!

So worries about dropping in--as long as we're talking Burn Notice it's all good. :-) (Thanks for the compliment on the story, too!)

Hmmm, I hadn't really considered that my problem could be the actor instead of the character, but I don't recall seeing him in anything before so I suppose that could be part of it.

Sam has been on fire, that is true. I will try to focus on that!
