4800 words and they haven't even made it into space.  I want to get a Word Counter like they use for NaNoWriMo, but I don't know what to set my goal as...  Can I have one that goes from 0 to 'indeterminate'?

I'm terrified I'm going to desert this like I have all my other WIPs.  Maybe if I don't post anything until it's completely done?  But I'm not ( Read more... )

Posting or not posting until you're done depends on the way you write, I guess. I wouldn't post a wip unless it were finished because I can't be sure I'll want to change something by the time I'm done.
Anyway, I have no practical advice, but I know people that have it:
big_pink wrote a workshop on using outlines to finish an epic.

Another workshop by minisinoo that gives useful tips about plotting.

And last another workshop hansbekhart posted last week about writing casefiles stories.
