OH!

That's what I said, aloud, in happy surprise, after reading the first sentence! I would never in a million years have thought to do Henry Pope for this challenge. It's a wonderfully fresh idea.

And very well written, but that of course is no surprise. Thank you for contributing to the challenge!

Really I didn't think I could do justice to anything including Michael and Sara, and Aldo's dead (not that I didn't try to think of some way around that), so then came Henry and I thought, why not?

Thanks for the compliment *blush*. I enjoyed writing for the challenge; I hope I'm inspired to do more challenge fics in the future.

*saves to memories*

This is masterful writing. If you were outside looking in on this scene, you'd be misled into thinking that nothing much happens. And that's why for me what you've done is so unbelievably magnificent; you've taken a few minutes in the life of a person and wrote a rich backstory, a wonderful description of his thoughts - He sits back in his lazy boy, clutching the remote and remembering Scofield standing in his living room. He remembers letting him go, and he thinks, four walls, a bit of barbed wire, and a few armed guards couldn’t keep him, and neither could he, not even when Scofield gave him the gun, and threw in bell bottom jeans and teased hair without so much as breaking a sweat. *g*

And I love Henry Pope, and I love how you've written him here. Thank you for sharing this story!

Oh thank you muchly. I like Henry, too, and it was fun to try and get inside his head a little bit. I'm happy it worked for you, and I like the bits you picked out. I was giggling when I included the bell bottoms and the teased hair. :-)

So like I told you earlier, this is awesome...you have this ability to form associations and make references that would never EVER occur to me. And of course your writing is so fluid and seamless...(gushes with jealousy).
Though I've only watched one episode of Prison Break ever (despite your attempts to change that), I still could understand and appreciate this fic.
Fantastic as always.
Just as a side note: when I clicked on my friends page and saw Wentworth looking up at me I thought "what the hell is Wentworth Miller doing on my friends page?"
Silly me.

I think Wentworth should show up more on your journal...like, all over it. I will help. Season 1, episode 2 here you come!

Thanks so much for reading this over despite the lack of Prison Break in your life. You made me much more confident about putting it out there. And it's funny you say I form associations that wouldn't occur to you because dude, Emily at Bonnie's grave is still sticking with me. So right back at you. (And thanks, too :-))

I love Henry Pope so I'm also excited when I see his name in the character's list.

So very believable because it although it was his choice, you could tell he loved his job and wouldn't retire until he had to.

He’s an escape artist Houdini himself would praise. The most dangerous and well guarded prison wasn’t going to hold him. Hell, he’d even bet that Michael was working on the Black Taj Mahal down there; that he had some other big wig completely under his thumb without them even knowing it.
Still so angry and confused even though he had the option of turning him in.

It's probably too much to ask that we see him again but I hope so.

Excellent work!

Beyond fabulous. There are so many ways they could work him in. *ponders* And they ought to do it...it would make me happy. :-)

Totally. I don't even care if it's flashback although I'd much prefer not to be one.

Oh, this is wonderful! And I loved the fact that you chose Henry for our challenge - great choice and you did it so well.

He’d like to turn the channel, to turn it off, or even to put it on mute, but it’s the same old train wreck that he never could look away from.

I loved this section particularly, because it describes perfectly how I think Henry would have felt about the breakout - as much as he has tried to move on, or put the past behind him, it keeps coming back, forcing his mind to return to that time.

Thankyou so much for playing and I hope we see more from you!

Thank you! I hope to play again in the future, because I have so much fun in this fandom and I'm so excited about Season 4 and all the wonderful fic that we will have here in the interim and also once the maddness begins again.

And I'm pleased to hear that Henry rang true for you here. He's definitely going to be mulling all Michael's mess over for a while.
