main characters:
Julia - the main character. A girl with a genetic mutation that basically turns her eyes into a mood ring. She always wears sunglasses. Anti-social, angry, bitter.

Ashley - Julia’s best friend. She is the co-captain of the tennis club, and is the only person who knows Julia’s secret. Spacey, laid-back, unflappable.

Derrick - a guy who has a bad reputation. He is actually very normal and easygoing, he just looks scary because of rumors, most of which are unfounded. Intense, even-tempered, introverted.

Jake - friends with Derrick. Mostly adds ridiculous rumors to Derrick’s legend, but disperses the horrible ones. Friendly with Ashley. Quiet, private, straight-forward.

Colin - Jake’s brother. A genius of sorts, whenever he bothers putting his mind to it. He is unwilling to grow up and is still a prankster. Private, blunt, direct.

Sara - has known Jake and Colin since they were kids although she knows Connie (Constantine) better. An aspiring singer and big sister to all. Open, energetic, honest.

Mariah - a girl with looks to rival Andy. Acts like a white knight to girls, mostly because she hates men. She and Andy have past issues. Short-tempered, charming, aloof.
