I've been mildly obsessed with Russian/Slavic SF for a few years now, ever since I read Roadside Picnic and Memoirs found in a Bathtub within a few months of each other. Have you read a lot of SF by Russian authors?

Oh, I've never been into sci-fi, though at some point I was reading absolutely everything, and there was a whole pleiad of russian (soviet) sci-fi writers, so it was unavoidable. I do remember some names - Henrih Altov, Kir Bulychev, etc.
I've read a bunch of books by Strugatsky brothers (authors of Roadside Picnic, of course - they are enormously famous in Russia. My favorite book by them is "Monday Begins on Saturday".

Memoirs found in a Bathtub - is it a book by this Polish author Stanislav Lem? I've heard about this writer, and probably had read something by him a while ago, but since I was never really interested in Sci-fi, and, like every normal russian of my generation, being sick of the satire on the communism/socialism themes, I didn't really got caught by his books.

From modern sci-fi I can really recommend only M. Uspensky/A. Lazarchuk tandem, they are good. I have no idea if their books were translated, though.
