I've read a bunch of books by Strugatsky brothers (authors of Roadside Picnic, of course - they are enormously famous in Russia. My favorite book by them is "Monday Begins on Saturday".
Memoirs found in a Bathtub - is it a book by this Polish author Stanislav Lem? From modern sci-fi I can really recommend only M. Uspensky/A. Lazarchuk tandem, they are good. I have no idea if their books were translated, though.
