I found your review via spn_newsletter, and while I am (admittedly) not entirely caught up on this season beyond spoiling myself all over the place this:
I am not interested in watching a show whose only continued storyline is between Sam and Dean.
Made me want to jump up and cheer, because YES. I get it - this is the epic love story of Sam and Dean, and I am thrilled that they've returned to their roots and this season really seems to be about the boys connecting again. But that doesn't mean they can't have other people in their lives, too. I don't think they'd kill off Bobby, but with this show, who the hell knows? And I don't think I could fully express my disappointment if they do.
Yes, I'm also glad they're connecting again, but I thought they were in good stead with each other at the end of season six, so it's not like they have far to go to reconnect this season, even with Dean's action in 7x03 (If you haven't seen it, I won't say more than that about that episode. I hope the hint isn't too much of a spoiler). Their feelings for each other are so positive right now that there's little conflict and little interest on my part in watching them hash out all the smaller issues they still have.
I haven't seen it, but I know what happens (like I said, spoiled myself rotten.) I hear they're actually talking this season. What a concept :-P
Oh, rant away. I have my own issues with this show, and I could rant about them for paragraphs if you let me (Ruby's my favorite character, need I say more? :-P)
I know, it's like they've never talked before *rolls eyes.*
Interesting, you're a fan not only of a female character but of an evil female character. I like it. I liked Ruby, though she wasn't my favorite. I watched season 3 and season 4 for the first time in the span of 2 weeks last year, and I'm glad I did; I was able to skip the long fandom debate when the Ruby episodes aired about whether or not she was trustworthy. I loved the moment at the end of season 4 when her true intentions are revealed--there's nothing like an awesome revelation scene.
OH GOD THANK YOU. I'm usually afraid of getting strung-up if I say that I'm sick of the solely Sam and Dean arc. I WANT CAS BACK AS WELL. I'm very easily pleased/entertained, so I like a lot of aspects of the season thus far, but the Sam and Dean Brotherly Angst-Fest of Repressed Feelings and Doom is starting to grate on me a bit.
I retain the hope that the action is going to pick up after the mid-season finale. I really felt like they could be working people like Crowley, Frank, Jodie, hell, maybe some old friends in as semi-constant characters (There's Diana Ballard, Kali, Joshua, the Novaks, Tessa, Deacon, Missouri- AND HEY, ANYONE OBJECT TO ELLEN AND JO BEING RESURRECTED, SINCE THEY'VE SKIRTED THE LINE TWICE NOW?) There are more, but that's a basic list.
Point being, these people are still there and qualify as potential allies or friends that could help the boys out. But NO, we have to fixate on Sam and Dean and their dysfunction. I love the boys, I really do, but it's the background characters that keep things alive

Sorry, I started ranting again.

Feel free to rant about her if you want :).
