Having dropped off the twins with their mother, Hannibal came back to the room and sort of collapsed onto his bed, sighing.

That half-eaten piece of pizza got dropped back in the box like a hot potato as soon as Kendal realised there was the much more interesting prospect of Hannibal there to clamber all over.

"Nothing," she said, grinning at him as she scrambled up to flop on top of him. The girl just liked to make noise for the hell of it, apparently. Wonder where she might've picked that up from?
