I've spent, this week, about ten hours on the Vespa, four hours riding horses, six hours hiking and hill climbing, and four hours dancing ... I feel your knee pain.

Re volleyball jerks:

What a Flawlessly Outstanding Response To Idiots and a damn fine story. Nothing wrong with enjoying it at all. ;)

Of course some people think I'm not a nice person either, so you may want to consider the source. But in my book since you solved it without resorting to screams, threats or violence, I'd say You Win.

A friend of mine in college was a fairly serious weightlifter and he said something really interesting that's stuck with me ever since. Paraphrased, it's that it's not the biggest guys in the [weight] room with the attitude problem, it's the big guys the tier beneathe them. This actually makes a lot of sense. The people who are truly at the top of their game have nothing to prove (or even if they do, slapping around a bunch of people clearly not in their league isn't going to do it). The guys in the tier beneathe them, of course, are all itching to prove that they're the biggest guys in the room. What they really need isn't to prove that they're the biggest guys in the room (since they're not), but to learn to behave like human beings.

So I think what you did is great. I'm sure all the people who didn't have the skills to respond to them are grateful that you do and that you made use of them. Hopefully, they've learned the real lesson.

i can say that all of my research was kind of moot until you see inside your knee, which is neat anyway. so see your physician, get a referral, and get xrays and mri. i think i should go back to the same specialist who took my xray and ask if they could do an mri as well... i keep getting shocked that they don't suggest it.
