I don't usually read Pete/Patrick but I have a soft spot for gender switched fics and I'm so glad I read this one. The writing was simple and lovely but at the same time your characters had so much depth. I really could picture them as REAL kick ass girls, it was brilliant. As a girl who also eats three meals a day I appreciated your realistic depiction of them as women who are quirky individuals, as artists. I felt for poor Trish, but I couldn't blame Peyton because she was such a wreck. I loved the ending though, obviously, when they both sorted things out.
Right, this comment is quickly losing all sense of coherency. Sorry, going to end it now. Just wanted to say again, amazing fic!
If FOB were girls (with lesbian innuendo and sexual ambiguity), as opposed to boys (with gay innuendo and sexual ambiguity), I don't think I would have heard of them. And that makes me very sad. I've been thinking about that kind of thing a lot lately. And, while i have an infinite soft spot for always-a-girl fics, I think one of the things which makes people keep writing them is that there aren't enough actual girls.
Anyway.
I really enjoyed the fic. Real girls, kicking ass, and making all the same mistakes as their male counterparts. I liked that. Also, TRISH, I loved her.
It's interesting that you commented on not thinking you'd have heard of the band if they were girls, because that sorta crossed my mind a lot whilst I was writing this.
I remember reading an interview with this awesome little Australian indie band called 'The Grates'. They're a three piece, two girls, one boy and one of the girls was saying how much harder it was to be a girl in the industry and taken seriously. Especially given that neither girl was intending on taking her clothes off and that was sorta what actually got me writing this in the first place.
It's funny, and I think you're right that the reason there's so much of it is due to a lack of girls in bandom. I like girls who rock out. ^^
and yes. enough rambling. thank you so much and i'm super glad you enjoyed it. yesyes/ :)
The Grates! There a bit wtf the first time you listen to them, but soon you will be in an undying relationship of love with them. I guess think Cobra Starship in genre? They're a bit like them, only with kickass female vocals.
How can you not love a band who starts songs with, "Some motherfuckers think they're born to dance." ? They're pretty much the cutest things ever. I can upload the album for you if you'd like.

I really wanted to write them as real women, so the fact that this came across is sorta awesome. ^^ Thank you again.

I'd say more, but I doubt it would be coherent.
