Y'know, the fact is that there are bad drivers on the roads everywhere you go. Every so often, you are one of these drivers. Today, I was. Lmao, I almost had a million car accidents, I'm kind of amazed I've gotten home with a scratch-free car/self. Good times, good times.

It's Pete Doherty and Carl Barat from The Libertines! They split up a couple of years ago, but they had one of the most intense and destructive relationships I've ever seen. They're last album, The Libertines, is essentially an epic break-up album between the two of them, and it breaks my heart.

And yes! I love Butcher's tree tattoo. It's gorgeous.

I have a few songs by them. They're good, the ones I've heard. Were these two actually in a relationship? I'm trying to wikipedia all this but it's quite unclear.

They were in a pretty damn intesnse relationship. Whether or not it was sexual is still very much speculated. They'd make out on stage though, and they seemed to be incredibly intimate on a sort of higher level. To me though, the sort of break-up they had (which was prolonged and intense and really ended with Pete breaking into Carl's apartment and fucking it up) is the sort of break-up where you're ending something so intensely passionate that couldn't not be romantic, y'know?

Their final album as well had some of the best and most heart-breaking break-up songs as well, and critics commonly say that it's them writing to each other. I mean, 'You Can't Stand Me Now' and 'What Became of the Likely Lads?' and 'Music When the Lights Go Out' to name a few.

(This is just a demo of 'Music When the Lights Go Out' sung by Pete. For the last album, it actually featured both of them singing. To each other. See the epic gay?)
They reunited in the last year or so as well, not to make music unfortunately, but they performed a couple of shows ( ... )
